I know we give Silva a lot of shit...

but we really have to give him credit for not being a total piece of crap like HoRam and Weaver were/are.

You'll be giving him shit

MLB.tv commercial with Girffey talking about his approach to 600 homers.

Shows Mays,Aaron, and Ruth hitting their 600th homers.

No mention of Bonds or Sosa.

by Goose on Apr 29, 2008 5:54 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Not surprising

MLB is trying to clean up their image that’s been hanging around the steriod issue for the past few years…... Bonds and Sosa are both linked to that issue, right or wrong its good PR to avoid them in promotional announcements.

by Wilder. on Apr 29, 2008 6:18 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

they didn't get done playing until about 9p

last night… its doubtful that they’d be at the park in Cleveland yet. If they had plans to fly out yesterday to join the club they wouldn’t have remained in the Rainiers game. So the decision to fly them would have come sometime today, contacting-coordinating-and flying them there probably wouldn’t have gotten them to the game by now.
