Terrace Club
Can anyone give me any helpful tips on the good/bad points of the Terrace Club? I have tickets up there tonight. I'm just wondering about concessions, bathrooms, best way to get up there (we're on the third base side looking straight down the right field line), etc..
Any advice y'all might have would be great.
I'm fifty-nine words long, hopefully when my mid-life growth spurt hits I'll grow to the minimum of seventy-five.

It's different...
If you’re on the third base side, you can enter from the center field or home plate entrances, both are about the same distance. Head upstairs and be sure to have your tickets still handy since they WILL check them again when you get to that level before they let you in.
The seats are nice (some are under an awning), the bathroom are higher class and the concession is, uhm, different. If you have a hankering for non-traditional stadium fare (wine, salmon sandwiches, premium sushi) it’s a nice place. However, I believe you can still get dogs and beer. Be ready to spend out the nose for whatever you buy up there and, while this is a broad generalization, be ready for people with shitty attitudes. I’ve been told numerous times to “shut up” when I cheer loudly or heckle someone. If you can get past the stuffiness, it’s not terrible.
That's dumb
Heckling is the best part. I remember I was at Kauffman last year watching Royals vs. Orioles, and two little kids 2 rows ahead of me and perhaps 50 feet to my right were both wearing Brian Roberts shirts so I yelled “Hey Brian Roberts! You suck! No one likes you, only little kids who don’t know any better would ever like you!” Pretty funny at the time, but now I really do hate BRob after these past two O’s series.

I don't mind walking for some cheaper concessions if need be, but upgraded bathrooms are a nice touch!
As for the heckling, I should behave myself tonight anyway. My GF got the tickets as a corporate perk, so there will be people there that she works with from other companies.
If I really want to start screaming I’ll go stand down in CF or something. As long as people don’t get pissy with me for simply cheering on my team.

I've only sat up there twice
so small sample size and all that, but what I’ve found is that cheering is accepted, but running commentaries (even funny ones) generally rub people up there the wrong way.
Notice I didn’t say you shouldn’t do it, just that if you do be ready for Seattle-style passive-aggressive stares and the occasional heavy sigh when the aggrieved person realizes it’s easier to do that and to roll their eyes at their friends than it is to actually ask you to stop.
Not that I have any experience with that, no sir.

Can't be worse than my last game I went to.
It was last year, Jeff Weaver was pitching (horribly), and I was surrounded by fat obnoxious Angel’s fans with screaming children.
I stayed in my seats until the second inning, then said “screw this” and took my GF to show her all around Safeco (she had never seen the bullpen area, Hit It Here or any of that stuff). We ended up hanging out down by the bullpens and in CF then left about the 6th to head north to our favorite dive bar and drown our sorrows.
The only cool part about it was JJ smiled and waved at us when we told him he kicked ass.

Listen to Devin
They’re box seats for rich people, about a step off from suites. I was thrown tickets for Terrace Club once, and it was a bit off-putting, like rich-people’s theatre box seats. I felt like Abe Lincoln right before he got capped.
I'm very much an "average joe", so hopefully it's not too stuffy or I'll just bail out.
As long as I’m in the ballpark I’m a happy man. I don’t care all that much where I sit (although some views are much better than others).

The only bad seats Safeco really has
are in the third deck above RF (Sec 309/310), when you’re basically looking down on top of the foul pole and can’t see most of RF. Otherwise you’re right, there’s not really a bad seat/view to be had.

I prefer certain seats to others, but if I'm in Safeco during a game, I'm generally pretty happy.

My condolences
the only time I’ve ever sat up there was on a work-bought ticket. Never again. We moved by the 3rd inning.

I like the club level
I try to get tickets there whenever I fly down to Seattle. However, the commentary on the fans up there is more often spot on than not. There have been a few times though where the crowd was awesome. I distinctly remember one time sitting next to a guy who had a clue and we both started giving Sexson the what for when a woman a few rows in front of us stood up and called us bad fans because we didn’t cheer for Sexson. I felt awesome when I stood up and sarcasticly cheered for him as he immediately ground into a double play just after she said it.
I was also at the Safe during that game last season when the whole crowd gave Sexson the sarcastic ovation for actually making contact with the ball while he was mired in a strikeout funk.
I usually sit just up the line from first base in the front row (my good friends have a ticket package and always throw a few tickets my way each year).
This will be my first time up in the Terrace Club seats. Worst case scenario, it should be a great view of the game, and the bathrooms should be nice.
Now I just need to figure out where to park really close to Safeco since I won’t be able to get there until RIGHT before game time, and I don’t want to have to sprint 20 blocks to get to my seats on time. Hopefully there’s some space in the Qwest garage, or oer at Home Plate parking. I don’t mind getting screwed on the parking costs, since the tickets were free.

Qwest Garage is your better bet...
I’ve never had anything but problems in the HP Garage. Enjoy shelling out $20 to park your car though. :(
I've parked in the HP lot quite a few times, it's not that bad.
But as late as I’m getting there Qwest might be the better choice. I don’t care if it’s $20.00. That’s no worse than a round of shots for my friends at the bar, and the tickets were free anyway.

I was there last night
in section 237..the four guys next to me talked about their ‘guys weekend’ for 3 innings…another couple guys asked why the pitcher printed on our tickets wasn’t starting the game….other’s cheered the loudest for Bloomquist.
They clapped at the end of the 5 run inning..or however many runs it was..I was too mad to notice.
I wanted to kill someone…but the seats are amazing
I fucking hate you Mariners
Crap. I'm in section 237 tonight.
I hope they aren’t there again tonight. Probably corporate morons or something.

they weren't the usual group
237 has an amazing view..right on 3rd base.

What row, seats?

I'll be the one with the drunken midget.

is the midget hot?

If I was really bringing a midget, I'd probably bring a scruffy, haggard looking one.
Just to throw at Bavasi if I saw him walking around.

Good seats, great food
There is a pasta place on the 1st base side that is killer. I have never finished an entire bowl. There is also a Taco/Nacho place down by the Hit it Here Cafe, once again, never been able to finish the entire thing. You’ll have fun.
My quick smells like french toast.
Thanks for the advice Red.
I’ll look for you at the game.

agreed.
The pasta place in the Terrace Club was probably my favorite damn thing about it… and even better, at the time it was something like $9 for that gigantic bowl of sauteed chicken penne pasta alfredo or whatever it was I got. Freaking awesome, and yeah, right behind first base.
I don’t think Terrace Club is so bad, but I also really wouldn’t pay for it unless there was no other choice. The times I’ve sat there were either through desperation (almost sold-out game that I just HAD to go to), or other people giving me tickets.
