MLB Gameday makes me laugh
Jays at Rays, with Toronto's Jesse Litsch facing Tampa Bay's Carlos Pena, produced the following pitch sequence:
Pitch F/X isn't being used in Tropicana, apparently.
- Ball
- Ball
- Called Strike
- Foul
- Called Strike
- Ball
- Ball
- Pickoff Attempt at 1B
- Ball
- Called Strike
- Swinging Strike
- Ball
Carlos Pena called out on strikes. That's 11 pitches, 6 balls and 5 strikes. And he was called out on strikes following a ball.
Something's clearly wrong.

I think it happens when they have latency problems.
A couple of games ago, Kenji had a 66 pitch at bat according to Gameday. Of course, if Kenji acctually had a 66 pitch at bat, his average pitches per plate appearance might be getting close to 4.
I just posted this but it seems it didn't go through
SB is dying, maybe?

...and it’ll make a lot more sense.

I’ve seen something like this happen a fair bit
The previous at bat doesn’t ‘close’ properly, and the pitches of the next at bat, start overriding the details of the previous pitch by pitch.
But here, it looks as though while the previous at bat didnt close properly, Pena’s pitches have pushed down the previous batters. So: Batter 1 faced balls 6-12 and walked, then Batter 2 (Pena) faced pitches 1-5 and struck out.
Anyway, with what I’ve seen before, it usually fixes itself after the at bat finishes
The game was at Disney, so that may have been a reason.
