By coincidence I just found this. I remember turning off the TC after the Soriano homerun and staring into the blank tv screen motionless, dejected, and silent for minutes after it happened. It was second only to the Gonzaga meltdown against UCLA as my most agonizing sports moment ever.

I think there needs to be a grace period before certain threads are admitted.
Yeah, some of the ones from the last few days have been pretty cool- but are they truly memorable? It seems like there needs to be at least six months before they can be declared the best of all time. Time needs to see if they have staying power before we just let them all in

and that we’re not going to latch on to the latest fad and dub it “timeless.”

I've been careful to not pul the ones that were "pretty funny"
but only the ones that had me consistently cracking up, and I show to a non-LLer as proof of the site’s genius. Just re-read the recent Coach threads and tell me they’re not on par with the trade deadline or the Beer Thread… I think we all knew the other night as it was happening that the game thread was one of the greatest things in LL history.

How about a provisional section where you/we stick threads under considerations for a few months? That way, we don’t lose the links, but also keep a distinction for the time being.
I could get on this and tag some posts as "awaiting induction"
My one worry is that in a few months we aren’t going to be nearly as enthused about this and won’t give a shit one way or another about inducting the ones that are on probation. So unless we commit to maintaining this full time I don’t know that it matters.
