Your typical Quad.5-A player, Dan Johnson (bbref)has just been designated for assignment by the A's. Call him Ben Broussard w/o the guitar. Must pass through waivers to be assigned to minors.

I'm sorry, but 24 is too young to be "crafty".

Why is Cairo Still on the Roster?

Is he there to scare Jose into being good? Does looking towards the bench and seeing Miguel scratching himself nonchalantly evoke fears in Jose of what he might become if he doesn't bust his ass?

Sign him to a MiLB contract

He's mashed in AAA, and is better 1B depth than LaHair.
He's odd in that some years he has LaHair-esque platoon splits, and other years they disappear.

Huh. I guess there's room given that the team released Kevin Witt, who I at least was pretty excited to see. Johnson'd be a good consolation prize.
