I feel bad for EOF
this is why ERA is stupid. He looked dynamite. So did Green. So did Bedard. I love our pitching right now.
Need 500+ comments in this thread.
If Pinocchio has a cocaine problem and he lies about it, does that make it worse?
It's so great to see you back Mr Lowe.
And to think, I could have chosen to support the Yankees or Red Sox...
I don't think he can hear you.
Unless he has an iPhone in the dugout. And I am sure he would have turned it off already knowing you are spreading your legs tonight.
He's actually a pretty cool story

Our five man bench is unnecessary.
Our 11 man pitching staff is not enough.
Discuss.
And to think, I could have chosen to support the Yankees or Red Sox...
I'm home
I'd give my afternoon at work negative stars.
Meanwhile, glad to see the Mariners have a pulse. Potatoes even looked pretty good.

I'd be encouraged by Wilkerson's two walks
but considering Kenji has two of his own, I think it's better to just leave it alone and not pay attention.
Kinda fucking up your thoughts on the projection
Johjima may get the 20+ walks by sheer luck/coincidence.

6 walks?
You know your pitching is bad when the Mariners let you walk them 6 times in a game.
So wilk is on, bottom 8th, lead by three.
Why not use our five man bench?
And to think, I could have chosen to support the Yankees or Red Sox...
I didnt have any problem in the last thread
as long as people didnt act like idiots

You obviously were not here at the time.
You may read what was happening, but you will never feel what was happening.
Why the fuck was Vidro going to run then?
Fuck this 5 man bench. I may be a complete baseball novice from a country that mistrusts the game, but even I can realise that Vidro is a fat fuck who can't run quickly compared to the guys on the bench who are blocking Dickey.
And to think, I could have chosen to support the Yankees or Red Sox...
Oh wow
shouldn't have stopped watching this game in the 6th inning...
Nice!
Nathan needs to hurry up and close it out
So I can watch JJ Putz close it out.

There was one pitch in the first AB I think that looked like a slider.
But judging by the velocity it probably was a split.

Giants: Barry Zito (think about it...it's true)

Now that the event is actually coming to pass
Bedard followed by Felix is a whole lot more intimidating than I initially thought.
Downright scary, actually. YES WE ARE GOOD
Let's Not Forget
These are the hapless Texas Rangers, but yes, I'm extremely excited after today, and I haven't had 1 beer!
Oh shit, tomorrow's game is a 3am start.
Only 24 hours to go!
I am going to be very tired this week. :(
I am just relieved that we won, even if our hitting was poor overall. Nice to see a few walks though. And the bullpen was honourable. And Bedard didn't stink up the joint.
And to think, I could have chosen to support the Yankees or Red Sox...
holy fuck I have to wake up for work in three hours
but the M's win!!!!! I'm gonna need someone sober to drive me to work at two in the morning. sick day!!!!!
I survived through the dial up!!!
Undefeated, myself and the Mariners.

Patience, Jeff. Patience.
In four days, the glory begins anew.
Sadly it'll probably last the whole of one week >:(
Four questions? More like one on FSN
Bedard must have pimp-slapped Mantank on camera after her 2nd question for them to cut it off like that.
holy crap, check out the PIT-ATL game
the PIT OF let a routine flyball drop between the LF and CF for the tying two runs to score on a 5 run 9th inning comeback.

Not bad.
Didn't stay in the thread the whole time but that was a nice game. Impressive showing by the bullpen which is one of my bigger fears going into this season.
Heck yea, Putz with a save already!
Marlon Byrd won big points with me tonight
For having a great sense of humor. Brett & Baker, thanks for joining us for the end of the game.
Sorry I had to run after the game, but I was incredibly late for a meeting. Come down anytime. The seats next to us are owned by a car dealership and those cheese dicks bail early all the time.

Marlon's reaction was awesome. :)
I had a good time down there. I'll keep my eyes open to see if they leave in the 7th again.

He actually chuckled. Turned and smiled at us as he laughed.
He took it very well IMO. I like the guy a lot more today than I used to.

Holy Christ, Really?
Four threads?????????????????????????? Tomorrow is not looking so good.
...and now I'm here
I don't know how happy I am about that.
But it's definitely impressive.

Recently getting back
Good God it was cold but it was very worth it. Not as awesome as last year but still pretty god damn excellent.
We don't negotiate with terrorists.
Just got back from the game
and I echo the holy shit it was freezing sentiment! But definitely worth it - AMAZING game and great to see JJ get the save. Bedard I was disappointed with at first, but the more I think about it, he DID get shafted a lot on calls and he had nearly zero control but still went 5 innings with just a few hits and a fuckin michael young HR - not bad overall. Great performance by the bullpen too! Overall not too shitty - and we are a game up on the Angels!

Just got back
Good grief it was freezing cold but hot damn that was one great game! I heart Lopez and King Awesome.
Also, the home plate ump can go fuck himself.
It was really cold.
I had to give standing ovations to all the players just so I had an excuse to stand.
...and now I'm here
I was actually looking forward to the mile long walk to my car
just so I could finally move around to stay warm.
My buddy and I were the EXACT same way..
We parked way the hell out there and thank GOD it stopped raining / snowing / hailing by the time the game was over.. the walk to the car was amazing.

Great game.
Was it just me being a homer, or was Bedard getting really, really, really squeezed the first few innings? I was very impressed by him today and I think he could've easily gone 6, but he was at 101 pitches... Basically, it looked like Erik should've had 2 or three more K's tonight, and the ump screwed him over...
Blind homerism, or did I have a point?

Not just you
I said it, everyone here said it, Blowers said it, Sims said it, Niehaus said it...and he's blind.
This ump was horrendous...so terrible.
I got a chance to see the TVs
and according to whatever the strike zone thing is, he had at least two strikeouts that became 2-2 or 3-2 counts.

Yeah, I'm watching the replay now...I think Bedard looked really, really sharp.
I thought so in person too, but holy crap he looked even better than I thought. It's going to be fun watching this guy pitch.

He wasn't sharp
Bad control made worse by the umpires.
That was Bedard on an off day.
by Graham MacAree on Apr 1, 2008 1:42 AM PDT up reply actions
Ehhh it didn't look awful.
I'd say it was slightly below average control. He really got squeezed badly today. The zone was at the very least consistently small though.
