LL Hall of Fame weekend

"Hall of Fame Weekend 2008: Hall of Fame Weekend will be held July 25-28 in Cooperstown and feature the induction of BBWAA electee Rich "Goose" Gossage, along with Veterans Committee electees Barney Dreyfuss, Bowie Kuhn, Walter O'Malley, Billy Southworth and Dick Williams. Induction Ceremonies will take place on Sunday, July 27 at the Clark Sports Center, at 1:30 p.m. ET. There is no admission fee for the Induction Ceremony.

Dave Niehaus, the winner of the 2008 Ford C. Frick Award, along with Larry Whiteside, the 2008 J.G. Taylor Spink Award recipient, will also be honored. Additionally, the first Buck O'Neil Lifetime Achievement Award, named in memory of baseball's great ambassador, will be recognized."

I've never been to Cooperstown, and I figure...what better time to go than to see Niehaus inducted?

Have any of you guys been? I'm really looking forward to cheering on Dave in NY.

Cooperstown is GREAT!!!

Its like a small beachtown only with a baseball theme. I would suggest it to any fan of the game. Good luck finding hotels or any place to stay for that matter during that weekend though. As cool as it would be to be there for the induction ceremony I think you are going to find it VERY tough and VERY expensive to get there that particular weekend.

If you're really considering going, I would go during the off season, you'll have just as much fun and probably 1/4 of the price. And you can stay at the Tunnicliff right across the street from the HOF.

Damn, now I wanna go back!
