Player A

Huge front page coverage on Player A's recent personal issues in today's USA Today. You always hate to see someone go through something this terrible, but with slight pangs of guilt I like to think this could be karmic retribution for what he put Seattle through during his tenure here. Should I feel bad? Should any of us? The question I guess ties in with that is, did he ever feel bad about how awful he was?
Story.

as a person, i do feel bad for him
but Player A the player...i feel no sympathy. he comes to seattle and completely sucks, then goes to st. louis and wins a ring?

now theyre finally feeling what we felt. about time.

i hope his baseball career comes crashing and burning down, but i hope his actual non-baseball life gets better.

I hope he gets explosive diarrhea.
And that diarrhea decides to suicide bomb his colon.
...and now I'm here

I feel bad for the other people in his life

good answer
I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.

Substance abuse problems are terribly sad.
Still, I tend to only feel bad for decent people who see there lives unravel due to them. Player A never showed himself to be anything but a total douche, as a player and a human being, so he doesn't really get any sympathy from me. I do feel terrible for the other people in his life, especially his kids.

With that being said, however, I get absolutely no pleasure out of seeing his life fall apart. Just because I think he sucks doesn't mean I wish him any ill will.

Substance abuse problems are terribly dumb
But then, I'm an emotionless robot, so that's to be expected.

I only started drinking heavily....
in mourning for Josh Hancock!!!!?????

That's essentially what Player A said.

What a world-class, mendoza-line limbo-ing, whining douche.

Yeroutahere!

When all is said and done, more is said than done.

People often start drinking heavily
When they lose their weed hook-up.

I think
addicts are just big fucking vaginas with no willpower*. But then, maybe its just that I don't have problems with addictive substances (its not for lack of trying) so I can't feel their pain.

*i make exceptions for people with truly miserable lives or inherited addiction - that's just tragic.
