I will say the GB and K rates are nice
As the year progresses his control will probably get better and better.
I now wish last opening day never happened.
Because it can never be beaten, which is why being 1-0 after 2 innings is hurting so much already.
And to think, I could have chosen to support the Yankees or Red Sox...
If Anyone....
is worried about Bedard's velocity...His average FB was 91.6mph last season. He's right in the ballpark.
According to FSN he's throwing 93-94 mph.

When they drew the "George Bush" Strike Zone with the telestrator
on the Opening Night broadcast, the Mariners hitters didn't know which zone was the fake.

If that was Horacio Ramirez on teh mound

New rule suggestion:
We do away with all Mariner at bats. Henceforth we get credit for one run every time our pitchers keep the other team scoreless in a half-inning.
Bavasi would still find a way to screw that up
probably trade felix and trot Pepe out to the mound every five days - yay for veteran experience
