Considering the frightening height difference.
It would be a miracle if Davidson won this.

That behind the back dribble
to split the defense (before he missed the 12 foot floater) was beautiful. That was a pro move.

Wow.
Curry is heating up. Beautiful lefty layup....
Davidson needs to slow the tempo!

You know what looks funny?
Because the court is raised 27 inches, the benches look funny cause the players look so small.

So uhhhh.....
Stephen Curry isn't very appreciated around here huh?
by brayden04 on Mar 30, 2008 2:40 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
I appreciate him.
But I also have nothing to do and am able to spend my time on here. Other people aren't so lucky?

that makes proper appreciation difficult

Davidson's leading scorer
Averaging 30+ points a game, and his team is a 10 seed. If they lose, the final four are all 1 seeds. If they win, it will be thanks to him, and there will be an underdog in the final 4.

I know little about them.
Only that they're a 10 seed and Curry is amazing.

I did when I was in the States,
but no way I would pay for a package to watch that team. An online package I mean. Although I don't know if those even exist.
by brayden04 on Mar 30, 2008 3:36 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Okay - so you know Robert Swift, yeah?
Swift is the reason I can't stand watching white centers in sports. The guy is awful, not athletic in the slightest, but because he's tall he gets the role.
Watching him play is like watching a small child try to dribble or catch a basketball.
...and now I'm here
by Librocrat on Mar 30, 2008 3:37 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Haha you're right, he is a stiff.
It was a terrible decision to draft him. Let's see, wait, this guy won't work out for us? We must be missing something! Let's take him! Would that work in any other industry???
The Sonics have been terribly run for a decade now. The Mouhammad Sene pick was awful too. When you have a top-10 pick and you tell your fan base you selected a guy because he could almost touch the rim standing just means you don't understand success. I don't care if it's an NBA coach who said it, basketball is sport that blends physical abilities and skill. Sene has absolutely NO SKILL. How is that an NBA player, much less a top-10 pick???
by brayden04 on Mar 30, 2008 3:41 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
No kidding.
Sene was funny, too, because people believed that he could have still been taken the 2nd or 3rd round. The guy only played basketball for the first time 1 year prior to them drafting him.
Swift is simply not an athlete. He's just a guy who happens to be tall.

Robert Swift is the reason I wish
I had grown 2 more inches. Because then I would have been paid!

Unless I'm much mistaken
Announcer just said one of the Davidson player's nicknames is 'The White Lobster'
Davidson takes the lead woo
by Nick S on Mar 30, 2008 3:43 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
I'd kill for a nickname like that.
I mean, you could use that as a pickup line. hahahahaha

It's gotten to the point
where everytime Curry shoots it I think it's going in. Only other time that happened to me was Lebron last year's NBA Eastern conference semis vs. the Pistons.
by brayden04 on Mar 30, 2008 3:48 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
So in the last 10 minutes he's pretty much missed everything badly
by Nick S on Mar 30, 2008 3:58 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
yeah....maybe I screwed him
I still have faith though! Let's go Steph!!!
by brayden04 on Mar 30, 2008 3:59 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
he's forcing really tough shots.
but that is his game I suppose

Kansas big guys are going to be Davidsons downfall
Davidson needs to keep them off the boards late in this game.
by brayden04 on Mar 30, 2008 3:55 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Davidson should
come out of this timeout with some pressure. Either full court press or halfcourt trap. Something to break Kansas' rhythym.
by brayden04 on Mar 30, 2008 3:58 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
That would've been a big shot...
Not lookin too good right now

Aaugh
Big trouble. Great steal, but Curry really really had to hit that.
by Nick S on Mar 30, 2008 4:05 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
definitely.
With Curry, being Davidson against Kansas. Got to go for the win.

wtf kinda possession was that

That sucked. Great run by Davidson though.
by brayden04 on Mar 30, 2008 4:15 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
I knew they would miss it when Curry took his time
to get across half court.
You need as much time as you can get to get a play going.

Four #1's = gay
Especially since I had a bunch of girls in my pool who just picked the higher seed to win every game... Not that I would've won anyways, I just hate to see them feel like they're smarter than anyone.

I fucking hate you Mariners
by kentroyals5 on Mar 30, 2008 4:18 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
Why not?
This Final 4 is going to be great. Sure there are no surprises like GMU two years ago, but these are some great matchups. Let's go UCLA!
by brayden04 on Mar 30, 2008 4:20 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
PAC-10 guy
Plus, Kevin Love is awesome to watch.
by brayden04 on Mar 30, 2008 4:21 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs

Lame excuse. Boo to UCLA.
by Wilder. on Mar 30, 2008 4:22 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
So if you're a PAC-10 guy
why wouldn't you want them to win? Out of curiousity.
by brayden04 on Mar 30, 2008 4:23 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
No... Fuck UCLA.
They're the only team that doesn't get any Pac10 love.

But I did grow up a huge Huskies fan.

Great game
If only MLB had as great of underdog stories as March madness.
by Edgar for Pres on Mar 30, 2008 4:58 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
gotta watch the final 4
I think it's pretty cool that all the 1's made it, I like the upsets but it's gets annoying after awhile. I was so damn sick of George Mason once they reached the final 4.
Go Memphis...I guess.
by MFAN on Mar 30, 2008 7:05 PM PDT reply actions 0 recs
I'm just the opposite
I hate the fact that the Final Four is all #1's. That's not why I watch the tournament. I like the George Masons, the Davidsons, the Gonzagas - that's what the tournament's all about.
Nice Guys Finish Third - Hopelessly lost, but makin' good time.
by pdb on Mar 30, 2008 8:53 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
I loved the underdogs but in the end
when it comes down to crunch time in the final four the underdogs always get slaughtered. These last few games should be pretty great basketball although we won't be able to find that underdog to pull for which does make it a little less exciting.
by Edgar for Pres on Mar 30, 2008 8:55 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Davidson didn't get slaughtered
unless you watched a different game than I did. They may have been beaten in the Final Four, but they beat some pretty damn solid teams to get this far, and they made Kansas shit their pants.
Nice Guys Finish Third - Hopelessly lost, but makin' good time.
by pdb on Mar 30, 2008 9:00 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
I do agree
I root for the underdogs, I root for every 16 seed every tourney and I rooted for Davidson today.
With that said, I just think it's pretty cool that we get to see the so-called best 4 teams in the nation play it out for the championship.
by MFAN on Mar 30, 2008 9:15 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
BWAHAHAHAHA
DONT FUCK WITH MY JAYHAWKS!
Seriously though, they had a great run. I was surprised they beat Georgetown, but didnt expect them to beat Wisconsin. And how the hell did they not lose to Kansas by 30 points? More talent. WORST possible matchup style wise and strength wise. Props.
But now my favorite (Kansas) and my 3rd favorite (Memphis) got some cleaning up to do. Eliminate the two cheaters!
