...but at this point, it's getting a bit ridiculous.
The New York Yankees have raised ticket prices for 2009 in their new stadium. Premium seats run up to $2500 per seat, per game. Which, if you're buying two, would run you a cool 405k for the season.
In order to get in on this deal, "[f]ans must buy those seats for three, five, seven or 10 seasons...and buyers will lock in at a specified scale of price increases."
I don't know exactly how many of each seat in each price range there will be at the new Yankee Stadium, but a quick and terse calculation tells me that if the Yankees sell out every game, which is to be expected, their gross ticket sales would be in the ~250-300M range.
That's just absolutely dirty.
