Beltre playing with torn ligament

Per Shannon Drayer. http://www.komoradio.com/marinersradio/shannon/16901931.html

I don't know if this is wise, but we've got no shot without him.

Uh oh
I was wondering when we would be hit by a major injury, and this seems to be it.  This is very bad news indeed.
And to think, I could have chosen to support the Yankees or Red Sox...

doesn't sound any worse
than it was last year, the way I read the article.  Get back from the ledge, at least for now.

oh balls
that's one of the first actual pieces of news to come out of spring camp and its completely shitty. God damnit. This is what I get for losing my faith over Carl Everett. God, why are you so petty?

Beltre's 2007
pre injury: 274/318/482
post injury: 274/317/478

don't freak out people.

no doubt about it he's a trooper
and can play through quite a bit of pain. It just makes him, and therefore our season, that much more fragile.

Tape it up big time
He can get away with it for the year if it's sufficiently insulated.

I just had this great image
of Beltre stepping up to the plate, hand swathed in pink Owens-Corning fiberglass insulation.  But that's probably not what you meant.

AP:
Adrian Beltre will miss the remaining two months of the 2008 season with asbestos poisoning.

I wonder how long recovery from surgery
is for this kind of thing, and if it's only a couple or three months, I wanna know why it wasn't taken care of right after last season.

It still wouldn't have hurt to
give him a physical at the end of the season just in case.

Andy LaRoche...
Tore a ligament and went into surgery with an estimated time of return in 8~10 weeks.
