This is the diary for all your fantasy baseball league questions, comments, and sign-up requests. I'll bump it up to the top every so often so it doesn't disappear from the front page.

From this point on, all subsequent fantasy baseball-related diaries will be deleted when I see them. I'm not doing this to be an asshole; I just don't want the place getting cluttered up.

Fantasy League
If anyone has a good ESPN or Yahoo Fantasy league where people don´t flake out after the first month I want in.....or we should try to get a league started or something.  I know USSMariner had a big post on it awhile back.  Not sure if there was ever any resolution though since there were like 100 people interested.

Rookies
I've tried fantasy games in other sports but not baseball yet.

If anyone if in the market for establishing a 'rookie' league of some sort for inexperienced simpletons like I, please do!

CBS Leagues
are my favorite. The money ones insure people stay committed and provide a nice prize. Although, several states consider it gambling and you cannot collect.

If anyone wants to start one there free, or money, i would like to join.

I just call dibs on the best player in the AL west.

John Morgan was kind enough to start a Yahoo! League, 'Lookout Landing Overflow', for those who didn't make it into Goose's.  There are currently 8 teams, out of 20 max.  H2H, with a draft March 15th.

I've never played Fantasy baseball and would be interested in trying it out. If you guys are way into it I might just try an auto-assign league. I'd probably be the annoying guy who infrequently updates his roster and what-not.

So long as you
actually put a little effort in... I think you'll be fine.  You don't have to pour over your customized projection systems.  Or juggle your lineup to take advantage of park factor.  But it's a good idea to read at least one mock draft depth chart... get a sense of who the top 50 players are... and try not to draft any player that's likely out for the year.  And don't leave a player in your starting rotation that's on the 15 day DL if you can help it.

I like paying for fantasy baseball
Keeps the league active, less prone to tampering (e.g. trade Johan Santana for HoRam), and there are cash prizes.

I usually sign up at TSN.com.

by Wilder83 on Feb 7, 2008 5:29 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I'll vouch for CBS.
It costs $129 per league for the good one, but the improvement over Yahoo is worth it, at least I think so.

The messiness of Yahoo pushed us over the edge last year.

And as Evan above me pointed out, playing for money -- even a tiny amount -- makes things a lot better. We pay $20 a year (after CBS fees). With that -- and letting guys keep a few players from year to year -- you can keep more people from quitting early.

the reality of fantasy
I just come here for news and Vidro jokes, but I am interested in joining a fantasy league in which the members are all active.  Last year was my first year playing and it wasn't much fun after half of the league quit a month into the season.  I am looking at the open yahoo league 10766 right now- how many of the people who have signed up are willing to be active even if they are losing?  Is anyone else interested in a head count or do you guys just want to wing it?  Is there another league that wants a player who is willing to check his lineup every day, respond to emails, and communicate on trade offers?  Also, I would be interested in joining a roto league as well if possible.  In either setup I think a good guideline is the fewer rate stats the better; they just enable absenteeism.

C-aj pier

2b-cano
3b-wiggington
ss- JoseReyes
OF- Hidecki matsui
of- jeff francouer
of- hunter pence
of- alex rios

bn-iwaura
bn- o cabrera

d willis
john maine
ben sheets
joe borowski
david weathers
tim lincecum
joe blanton
carlos arroyo
sergio mitre

thanks.

Yeah, I'm an All-Star.

by MarinerintheDistrict on Feb 13, 2008 1:17 PM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I dunno
but Maine and Rios were both touted by some of the predraft material I was reading.  And I've heard that not wanting Lincecum is wrong.

by johnbai on Feb 13, 2008 1:31 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Maybe
Reyes (obvious 1st rounder), Lincecum (for potential), Sheets (for star production), Rios (for upside), Cano (aren't many good 2nd basemen... which is why Chase Utley is a 1st rounder in many drafts) and then keep your favorite player to root for from the rest.

Personally I'd go with Orlando Cabrera since he ought to have good trade value if you don't want a short stop as your Util IFer.  Or Maine if you're worried about pitching depth.

by johnbai on Feb 13, 2008 1:44 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Hmmm...
Jose Reyes and Tim Lincecum are clearly easy choices.  Other than that, you're probably safe not protecting most everyone else...

I'd go with
Cano, Reyes, Pence, Rios, Lincecum, and Sheets.

by patsfan on Feb 13, 2008 1:53 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

i concur
Wholeheartedly.  But its really difficult to determine this kind of this without first determining who will be on the draft board or auction table- depending on who is available rios and pence could become very replaceable.  Cano is likely the 2nd 2B off of the board, so I do not see many scenarios where he is not a keeper.  At the very least, those are probably the only 6 you should even be considering.
holt shit its christmas.

by yteimlad on Feb 13, 2008 2:37 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Yeah
I was gonna protect Lincecum and Reyes for sure. But after that? Shit...

I must have a high draft pick though, this team must have finished last haha. And I know Felix is going to be unprotected....

I'm thinking:

Reyes
Lincecum
Cano
Rios
Sheets
Maine

Yeah, I'm an All-Star.

by MarinerintheDistrict on Feb 13, 2008 1:55 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I wouldn't keep Maine
He is very replaceable- would you draft him in the 6th round?  You can get pitchers off of the waiver wire who will be just as valuable.
holt shit its christmas.

by yteimlad on Feb 13, 2008 2:47 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

yeah but
I wouldn't take any of these guys in the 6th round...

besides reyes and lincecum.

Yeah, I'm an All-Star.

by MarinerintheDistrict on Feb 13, 2008 3:54 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

well
If the available players in your league will be better than all of those guys, then you're better off drafting early and not keeping any of them.  But the point still remains that Maine is nothing special and will be far less valuable than Pence.  Let someone else overdraft him.  To be honest, I wouldn't draft him at all in a standard 5x5 league unless you have 30+ man rosters.

I think you might be underrating cano and overrating lincecum if you would keep lincecum over cano.

You have some fringe players like Francouer, Rios, and Pence that someone else might be willing to acquire in a package for a solid keeper- I would explore that route too if you haven't already.

holt shit its christmas.

ide keep pence over maine
dude was having a great rookie season only an injury slowed him down

by wadswerth on Feb 13, 2008 3:02 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

My advice
Try and keep Pence AND Maine.
I'm a bit higher on Maine than others, thanks to a K/9 over 8.   Couple it with his durability, and he's a solid bet going forward.  Nothing spectacular, but solid.
Oh, and the whole national league thing.

So:
Lincecum
Jose Reyes
Pence
Cano
Maine
Sheets

The guy I'm more worried about is Rios.   I keep thinking you can grab corner defenders w/power in early in your draft.   You're already getting a CF with plus power in Pence.

by marc w on Feb 14, 2008 9:02 AM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Let's see
Reyes and Lincecum are no-brainers.

If your league is deep at all, I'd keep Pence. He's young and seemingly very talented, so he's only going to get better.

Cano cos he's a second baseman, and due to his lineup should always rack up runs and RBI.

It's Sheets' contract year. I'd hold onto him to see if he can somehow motivate himself to stay healthy.

Rios is some good.

by Katal LM on Feb 13, 2008 2:50 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I'd go
Reyes, Cano, Pence, Rios, Lincecum. I was going to say don't keep Sheets b/c he's killed me the last two years, but he seems like the best option. Unless you like Francoeur.

This was our first year with this setup and we all blew a ton of money in the early part of the draft, so players came cheap later on.

by i want junior on Feb 15, 2008 4:24 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I'd keep
Lincecum, Gallardo, Pence, Chris Young, Liriano, and Soriano.

In auction leagues, you really want to emphasize keeping guys who are huge bargains.  You ought to be able to get guys like Wright and Ortiz back for basically the same price as you have them now, but there's no way you would get Lincecum for $3, Gallardo for $1, etc.

Drafting strategies
what do y'all predict for Pence, Braun, Tulawitski in terms of 2nd year drop offs... or will they improve in their sophomore year?

Are you guys looking at BABIP and trying to guess who's due for serious regression/bounceback?

And how do you rank your top 10 picks?  How early are you willing to draft Santana given the switch to the JV league?

by johnbai on Feb 20, 2008 10:55 AM PST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

i think
Most of the people here are in leagues with each other and may be reluctant to give away their strategy before draft day.

The only one of the three you mentioned that i would worry about a drop off for is Pence.  Braun's value will go down next year if he is no longer 3rd base eligible, but for this year I think he is a safe bet.  PECOTA projects him at about 60 VORP.  Tulowitzki is a safe bet with huge upside because he is a SS, even if he doesn't improve from here on out he is an above average offensive SS.

The more I look at things, the more I think I would be willing to draft Santana #1 overall under the right circumstances.  The difference between him and everyone else could be enormous, and there really are very few SP worth drafting at all.  But that relies heavily on the league format and many other factors.  I would not draft him #1 in a vanilla 5x5 league, for example, or even in the first round.

holt shit its christmas.

by yteimlad on Feb 20, 2008 4:53 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Tulo
Only thing I don't like about Tulowitzki are his home/road splits (.326/.392/.568 @ Coors, .256/.327/.393 on the road in 2007). I'm in a H2H league though so that effects me more. But SS is pretty weak after Rollins/Hanley/Reyes. After those three you're looking at Jeter or Tulo, then what? Tejada? Orlando Cabrera? Khalil Greene is great in real life, but Jeff detailed what Petco does to him.

Being in "leagues with each other"
means this is your opportunity to spread misinformation!

I'm drafting Felix #1 overall!  Then I'm drafting Bedard, Ichiro, Putz, Beltre, Kenji, Ibanez, Yuni... in that order.  And then Adam Jones.

I give my draft a B+
If we graded drafts on how much my sleeper picks pissed off people who were planning to take said guys with their next picks, I'd give myself an A+.

I think I have a solid all around squad that can hang in there in every category.

You yourself have a pretty solid top of the lineup, AND you got JJ.

by Gomez on Mar 2, 2008 10:03 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

How would you grade my team?
Using the same winning formula from last year's squad (power+speedy guys) and (strikeout kings!)
C - Soto
1B - Teixeira
2B - Weeks
3B - Braun
SS - C. Guillen
OF - Sizemore
OF - Markakis
OF - C. Hart
DH - Francoeur
BN - Loney
BN - M. Bourn
BN - C. Rasmus (super sleeper...another power+speedy guy)
SP - Verlander (Cy Young - book it)
SP - Oswalt (yeah, I know, but I got him as a value pick)
SP - R. Hill
SP - Cain
SP - Billingsley
RP - BJ Ryan
RP - B. Wilson
RP - Neshek
RP - Broxton

I'm a hardass so I'd give it a B
The pitching staff is absolutely monstrous for ERA, K's and WHIP, and Verlander, Oswalt and Hill probably mean plenty of wins.

The hitters are alright, nothing I'd consider blowaway great, decent power guys with Teixeira, Markakis (who you think will be a beast this year) and Francoeur, plus Sizemore to produce runs, some power and SB.  I know I said the sophomore jinx isn't what it used to be, but I still have my doubts about Braun's 2nd season matching his 1st.  You're banking otherwise, so if I'm wrong there, you profit.  That's why they play the games, right?

I think your lineup will be solid, plus the young guys on the bench are low cost high reward guys.  You'll be competitive at worst, but as with any team, with things breaking right your team will be dangerous.

by Gomez on Mar 3, 2008 7:22 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Thanks Gomez
Let's not forget that Billingsley might be the opening day starter for the Dodgers!  Another value pick with high upsides.

In regards to my hitters?  I've developed a strategy last year to go for guys that do all-around production, and it worked!  So that's why I'm stick to guys like Sizemore, Markakis, Hart, Braun, to some degree, Weeks, etc.

And my pitching is loaded with high K/9 potential...as that seems to be the key to winning H2H.  I also utilized strong setup man to avoid blowing picks on injury prone CLs.

Trade edit
Oswalt and Cain out, Felix and Jeff Kent in.

I actually think Felix, attitude and all, is gonna break out huge this year, and I don't mean hives.  Add in the home parks, and I'd say Felix can produce more K's, wins and better ERA/WHIP than Oswalt.

Cain is fantasy fodder, a decent arm working under the specter of that awful Giants club.  At least your league doesn't penalize losses.

And Kent is whatever, but he'll be an upgrade over Weeks, who is the Brewers' Jose Lopez in terms of his potential vs performance.

by Gomez on Mar 4, 2008 7:06 PM PST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Weeks
He hit .273/.444/.553 in August & September after a brief stint in AAA, with 11 HR in 150 AB.  He won't be that good over a full season, but he's so much better than Lopez right now that they aren't worth comparing, and there's a great chance that he's better than Kent this season.

F- I'M KIDDING, I'M KIDDING
Your lineup is veteran heavy.  I'm seeing a bit of decline in Beltran, Wells and Sheff, though we're looking at upside from Gordon.  The end result should be a mishmash of reasonable production, and you should be mostly competitive, though I don't see you dominating in the offensive categories.  However, you're going to win the SB and SV categories every week.

Your rotation is about Vasquez and his quality innings and high K rate fronting... a bunch of meh.  Your closers will help a bit with K's, WHIP and ERA, but only so much.  How your pitching does will hinge on how Escobar rebounds from his injury.  If he's your standard Kelvim, your pitching will be solid in the ERA and WHIP categories (a healthy Escobar IS pretty solid), but if he flatlines or never quite recovers, you better hope you find a miracle on the waiver wire, because Wainwright and Lilly are filler, plus I see Blanton regressing.

Overall, C+/B-.

I'm in a pretty casual league with some
friends and we are all pretty inexperienced with fantasy baseball.  Should be fun.  One of the guys is a big Red Sox fan (and surprisingly isn't a huge douche).  This is his first year doing fantasy and is not taking it too seriously which is fine.  He proceeded to basically draft the entire BoSox team throughout the draft.  At first we thought it was pretty funny/stupid but looking at his team, it turned out to not be as catastrophic as you might think it would be.  Basically the Red Sox kick a lot of ass.  He does have a few players who aren't Red Sox but basically his first 10 rds were all used on that team.  Its pretty amazing in a way.  (Ten person yahoo league)

Great googly moogly
Your lineup is beastly, with serious damage potential at almost every position all the way through, plus Cammy (who I think is going to bust out and have a big year in Milwaukee) and Adam Jones on the bench.  Seriously, the only weak spot is Lowell.

You've got instant saves and WHIP valves in Putz and Izzy, and your rotation is high risk, high reward.  If most of those guys stay healthy and productive, you will have a bad ass rotation, but you loaded it with question marks.

I've give it a B, with a A+ for the hitters and a C- for the rotation.

Okay, FINALLY getting around to it
Okay, this is one of those deep 30 round leagues with elective IF/OF slots.  This is great for stashing miscellaneous starters that can give you strength in 1-2 categories.  You did a good job of picking guys who counteract weaknesses in other guys: for example, contact guys like Sanchez, Iwamura and Yuni should produce a high average that counteracts the lower averages of power hitters like Richie and D-Back Chris Young.  I see question marks towards the bottom like Inge and Duncan, but being in a 30 round league myself, I know that those last 4-5 rounds are difficult to find proven regulars.  I'm not high on Braun or Bay, but you did get good underestimated sleepers like Broussard and Francoeur.

Sabathia and Oswalt are solid SPs and Perez will rack up the K's, plus the mix for the last two spots isn't bad at all.  Nathan is a stud closer, but Weathers lost his closer job when Fatcrisco signed with the Reds, and Moylan's got to hope that Raffy's arm stays sore AND he overshadows the other options.  HOWEVER, if this is a league that counts holds, then these are good options, and having one closer thus isn't bad.  Two would have been best, though, with one middle relief or setup guy in the other RP slot, as many GMs probably aren't going to have a grasp on the holds category.

Ultimately I'd give it a C+... good mix in both pitching and hitting that should remain competitive in most categories and produce a good average, rack up some wins, K's and runs... but outside of Morneau, Braun and Young it's light overall on comparative power (not weak but a little light; other teams may have more power hitters at more positions), a couple of slots were punted (like Yuni at SS), you could use stolen bases, and with a roster this deep you should have another catcher as backup, plus one more closer.

Lots of risks
There's enough talent in the lineup to do damage, if everyone stays healthy and pans out.  Chipper is always an injury risk, Longoria may be held back due to service-time logistics, and Vlad at this stage is an injury risk.  But there's a lot of solid talent: Bourn will provide SBs, Jenkins will have a good year in Philly, Adam Dunn always puts up big power numbers, Johjima is solid at C, and Cano will hit well.

The staff is roughly solid, with Santana and Chris Young doing most of the damage, plus I'm sure Blanton won't be bad.  Weaver and Arroyo are meh and who knows how Scott the Drunk will pan out, but you could do worse.  If the average team has 1-2 closers, you'll be fine with just Mo but I would feel more comfortable with two closers here.  Heath Bell, Delcarmen and EOF are good for holds if they're counted, and helping lower WHIP and ERA.

I'd give it a C+, lower only because of all the question marks in the lineup and for the shortness in the bullpen, but the other pitching is solid and there's reliable talent in the lineup that will produce for you in all categories.

by Gomez on Mar 21, 2008 10:57 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Power galore
Figgins and Pierre appear to be your steals guys, though Pierre may face a challenge from Ethier for the LF job.  If he holds serve, you're good, though average may be a concern as many of these guys are free swingers or low average.  Still, a strong lineup, and power obviously leads to runs and RBI, so you're strong in all these categories, plus OBP, SLG and OPS if they're counted.

Lots of young and/or speculative guys in the rotation.  As long as they pick up where they left off, you'll be in good shape, and even if some don't it appears you have enough SPs that you'll still put together a solid rotation.  You may get owned in the K's category since you have decent but no big time K guys, but you should be strong in the other categories, especially wins as most of these guys are on decent teams.  As for saves, you'll have an uphill battle, as Wilson's untested and on a meh team (though Benoit is good insurance), Kerry Wood is hurt AGAIN and we'll see about Wilson.  But as closers and relievers do, they'll help your ERA and WHIP, and K/9 if that's counted.

Still, this is a decent team thanks to the heavy power.  I give it a B.

Yeah, it seems that way.
Unlike fantasy football, fantasy baseball takes too much time and effort to keep up with it. I tried it once a few years ago, but ended up just going through the motions by mid-season. Oh well, at least I gave it a shot.

Epic fantasy draft for great justice
I got to pick 1st in Goose's LL League.  My professor pulled the string on us and had us abandon our laptops to watch everyone's presentations, lame for sure, but the autodraft did not disappoint me.

C - Jason Varitek
1B - Justin Morneau
2B - Brian Roberts
3B - A-ROD
SS - Edgar Renteria
LF - Garret Anderson
CF - Mike Cameron
RF - Ben Broussard

Bench:
2B Ian Kinsler (betcha he'll be traded though)
CF Willy Taveras
L/C/RF Reggie Willits
C Ronny Paulino

SP - Brad Penny
SP - Oliver Perez
SP - Noah Lowry
SP - Beluga Tits
RP - Joe Nathan
RP - Bobby Jenks
P - Chad Cordero
P - Doug Davis

Bullpen TBD (I drafted Jason Schmidt and Joel Pineiro but dropped them both).

I give this draft a C+, because my autodraft was mostly solid, I got a couple steals like Broussard and the three closers, and you can't go wrong with A-Rod, but some of my picks (Schmidt, the two Angels OFs) were crappy and Kinsler was redundant, plus there isn't much in the SP dept.

by Gomez on Mar 11, 2008 11:07 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Update
Pending trade of Kinsler for TREVORTIME.  Hoffman would give me 4 good closers, locking down the SV category.

by Gomez on Mar 12, 2008 12:20 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Update 2
Oliver Perez to Brett's squad for Milton Bradley and Chuck James.  James is a lesser but useful pitcher, but Bradley (who I not only think will be okay after his injury but will have a breakout year) gives me a quality OF option.

Goose's league
C: Navarro
1B: Helton
2B: Phillips
3B: Chavez
SS: Tulowitzki
LF: Crawford
CF: Ellsbury
RF: Victorino
Util: Teahen
Bench:
OF Bruce
OF Guillen
1B Barton
OF Gomes

SP: Harang
SP: McGowan
SP: Greinke
SP: Jurrjens
RP: Accardo
RP: O'Flaherty
P: Justin Miller
P: Sean Green
Bench:
SP Wolf

So, yeah, I'm pretty much punting saves and much production from CF< 3B and C. Hopefully Chavez is actually healthy and Navarro is more 2nd half than he was 1st half last year. And Ellsbury is decent.

Utl Adam Jones

SP Erik Bedard
SP Chris Young
SP Matt Cain
SP Tom Gorzelanny

P  George Sherrill

BN Ryan Theriot (2B/SS)
BN Bill Hall (CF)
BN Carlos Ruiz (C)
BN Jeremy Accardo (RP)
BN Kevin Slowey (SP)
DL Chris Carpenter

Yeah...I ended up with all the active pieces in the SEA-BAL deal, I totally didn't realize this until after the fact.  Besides that and the ridiculousness of me getting Hanley with the #6 pick, what do you guys think of the team?

I don't know
I haven't seen a single projection system that expects Pena to go back to his pre-'07 numbers. The only reason Carlos isn't a first or second rounder is because he hasn't yet proven that he can sustain his productivity. I believe that when he hits 40+ HR again this year, his perceived value in fantasy will skyrocket.

Dedicated owners wanted for Fantasy League
We're a group of enthusiactic Mariner fans who are looking for interested owners to join a fantasy baseball league.

I've started a Head to Head league over at Yahoo and I'm hoping to add a few owners. We've got a strong group so far, and I'm looking for dedicated owners who will stay with it all season long.

The draft is live and is at Monday 3/17 at 10pm EST.
Register for the league at baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com The league ID# is 121868 and the password is mariners

Hope to see you there.

LL Overflow
The LL Overflow league is shy of one member.

It drafts tomorrow (Saturday), but won't be able to without a 20th team.

This is cool
Last year I did Goose's League and 2 public leagues, which was still fun, but not knowing anyone in 2 of the 3 leagues took an element from it that's definitely there now that I'm doing 3 leagues with people I know.

My team is terrible
I missed the draft due to time zones, and there was nothing that could be done about that.  However, I am surprised by just how bad the computer picking was for me.  I am the O's of this league.
And to think, I could have chosen to support the Yankees or Red Sox...

Baseball sim help!
Hello,

I play strat-o-matic baseball and just joined a league where each owner picks a franchise to control (GM and game manager). We play with the previous seasons stats so our first year will be the 2007 season. I have the Mariner franchise (and since we are starting with the 2007 season I don't get Bedard). We are going to draft from four franchises that were not selected but other wise you get who was on the roster and in future years any rookies that are called up to your team.
Now...I know about Hernandez, Balentien...I also get to keep Adam Jones and Sherrill (they were traded right?). What I would like to know from the devoted Mariner fans is what is on the horizon regarding pitching? Are there any decent pitching prospects in AA or AAA? Because after Hernandez, Washburn and Batista there ain't a whole lot as far as starting pitching as you all probably know:) Hopefully I will be able to draft some better pitching (good chance I might be able to get Meche back:) but because the Mariners did reasonably well in 07 I am looking at around a 13th, 14th pick. In future posts I will be asking about some players on my roster and whether I should keep them or not and will keep you all up to date on somewhat of a Mariner alternate baseball universe:) Thanks.

Anybody interested in an autodraft league?
For those of you who were around for the old ITP days and possibly fanhome, you might remember the poster Bedirthanaverage. He's the one that runs that league that's been going on for the past 5 years. But this year we're having trouble getting people to join. We have 11 right now, trying to get to 16.

It's an autodraft, and it drafts on Monday. So be sure to predraft your players.

Positions:

C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, CF, OF, OF, OF, Util, SP, SP, SP, SP, RP, RP, RP, P, P, BN, BN, BN, BN, DL, DL

Stats:

R, HR, RBI, SB, OBP, SLG, W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP, K/BB

Guess I'll throw mine up here

for some commentary, or just to amuse myself. 13 team mixed roto keeper league - OBP, SLG, HR, R, SB, and the standard 5 pitching cat's.

C - Geovany Soto
1B - David Ortiz
3B - Edwin Encarnacion
CI - Carlos Delgado
2B - Kelly Johnson
SS - Carlos Guillen
MI - Jeff Kent
OF - Grady Sizemore
OF - Corey Hart
OF - Chris Young
OF - Nate McLouth
Util - Milton Bradley

Bench - Bonds, Church, Mark Reynolds

P - Jake Peavy
P - Cole Hamels
P - A.J. Burnett
P - Dustin McGowan
P - Zack Greinke
P - Unit, Big
P - Randy Wolf
P - Joe Borowski
P - Old Man Percival

Pen - Sonnanstine, Baker, Gordon

Redshirts: Longoria, Kershaw, Brignac, Marrero

My closers are shaky, but I've been burned too many times by closers to spend high picks on them and will just piece together a decent amount of saves from these guys and the free agent pool. I've been able to do that the past couple years and come out in the top 3 or 4 in saves.
