Baker's Blog Event

Anyone else here going?  Want to get some drinks after, to drain away the sorrow of even fairly intelligent folk like Geoff thinking the Bedard trade is a good idea?

I'll be there, figure it'll be a fairly good way to spend my night off...go here for more info.

etowncoug and I are going
Because hey, why not.  Geoff's a cool guy to talk to in person, but he's every bit as wordy as he is on his blog.

Oh to be young again...
I'd love to go, but living so far from Seattle makes it tough.  Throw on the whole old-fartedness and family commitments, and that generally means I miss all the cool stuff.

Actually, tonight I've got band practice, so I'll be jammin' somewhere else.  Have fun, though!

Damn
If I didn't have class (and a midterm!!) tonight, I'd totally go.

I can't wait to be done with school, if only because I won't have to miss cool stuff like this on Tuesdays/Thursdays anymore.

Wait till you're married
And you have to beg for a Hall Pass.

I am out because I had my night out watching Duke-NC last night.

A.
Men.

Either that or find some way to plug the kid in, and phrase it as "hey -- you get a night to yourself w/o the kid!"

Heh, I think Paul bringing Joey with him kinda
helps keep the rest of us in line, because we don't want to contaminate him too much. But he's an awesome kid though.

Wish I could go...
But I'll be sitting through 3+ hours of interviews for the vacant Mukilteo City Council position. Who's jealous?

In isolation it probably isn't...
Remember: Erik Bedard is very, very good.

Problem is, most of the 24 other guys on the M's aren't good enough to justify the high price.  The fact that Sexson is at 1B, Ibanez is in LF, Lopez is at 2B, Vidro's the DH, and we don't have the depth in the minors to cover any major injury (at CF and SP) or meltdown (2B, 1B, LF, DH)...

Disagree a bit
But only because I can see Clement being a decent option if we need to fill a hole at DH/1B (sliding Vidro into the field at 1B if need be)...otherwise, yes, an injury or horrible play does really sink us

Yeah
I couldn't imagine having to deal with some of the commenters/emails he has everyday.
