Crisp/OT: Music Thread
What are your guy's thoughts on Crisp as a fit for the M's?
I was browsing mlbtraderumors and saw that the Red Sox are trying to move Crisp but don't have any matches. With them not wanting to block Ellsbury, and probably not wanting that expensive of a 4th OF, if this dragged on until spring training and near the start of the season do you guys think the Red Sox would accept a lower offer to move Crisp? Dont the Red Sox need a backup catcher.. Maybe a Rob Johnson + Another decent prospect for Crisp? He seems like he'd be a decent left handed (or is he switch hitter, im honestly not positive) bat behind Ichiro that would also allow Ichiro to move to right, and if we were lucky, Wilkerson to left and Ibanez to DH/1B. Thoughts?
Also.. Did anyone pick up the new Mars Volta CD.. Its pretty darn good. Ouroboros, Aberinkula, Metatron and Ileyna are probably my favs. Thomas Pridgen rocks on drums. He is amazing. I've barely started getting into them, probably 3-4 months ago, I dont know where Ive been all these years. Any other TMV fans here?

Crisp in LF
Of course, Crisp in LF would probably not help the offense.
He's a switch hitter, but is better as a righty, so safeco's probably not a great place for him.
It might take more than Rob Johnson+ to get him, too. His defense is well recognized now, and someone may hope his O can recover to 2004-2005 levels. He's a good 'buy low' guy, but I'm not sure the price is THAT low.
The Mars Volta? No, but I used to really like At the Drive In (Cedric/Omar's first band).

Last three seasons, he's been better as a lefty...
. . .
My friend, who's a pretty skilled drummer, saw MV New Year's Eve in SF. He HATED their new drummer, said he couldn't play along with the rest of the band to save his life. Though, given it's the MV, that may be what they wanted. AtheDI was one of my favorite groups for a while. All the talent of MV, plus, you know, actual songs: Hooks, structure a real rhythm section.

LH/Rh
In every other year of his career, he's been better as righty, often MUCH better. I don't think it's a good bet to think he wouldn't be hurt by safeco.
Again, he's a good 'buy low' candidate, and he'll be better with the stick than he showed in Boston, but I tend to doubt that the 2005 Crisp will ever show up again. It'd also take a good prospect (i.e. better than Rob Johnson) to get him, and i'm a little sick of trading away our good prospects. We've done enough of that this off-season.
I'm with you on ATI/MV.
