Who MLB would like to see win?

I saw an article recently about players being asked who they would like to see win a championship (that hasn't already done so) and the KG got first with 6 (seems kind of low) and Nash was 2nd with 5.
I wonder what the results would be for baseball.  I don't think Ichiro would be very high, since players are more in awe of him, not buddy buddy (well opposing players perhaps).  You think A-Rod would be high on the list?

Griffey'd probably be up there.

If you were going with the MLB HQ financial guys,
I'd say the New Los Chicago CubYankAngelDodgSox

I don't think they'd be nearly as happy
with one of the SoCal teams as they would be if Chicago, Boston or NY won, since the fan bases of those teams are not nearly as rabid as the east coast teams.

Honestly, the Mariners winning probably would make them pretty happy - further marketing opportunities in Asia (well right now just Japan but...)

If I understand the question correctly
and I'm not sure I do, because of the...creative syntax, I think he's asking which PLAYER you'd like to see win a WS ring.

For me, it's Junior, followed closely by...well, that's pretty much it, really.  I'd love to see A-Rod win one, too, but not with the Yankees.

Yeah, I think your interpretation is correct,
but while we we're on the subject of teams.

For players, I think that, it would be Junior for sure, and then maybe... Derek Jet... oh wait.

Yeah, there really aren't any other players out there. In terms of people, I'd love to see Billy Beane win one someday, just as a giant fuck you to MLB/Bud Selig as a whole

I think he was asking about players too,
but I couldn't come up with anyone in particular and I don't really know who is popular among players.  Biggio and Bagwell both retired and they were my first two.

Trevor Hoffman
would be someone I wouldn't mind seeing win a world series....

Jamie Moyer would be my other...

Doubt though many in baseball would have the same feelings about them.

I forgot about those two
and I'd be happy to see either one win, Moyer more so than Hoffman.

Good call
I think most people in baseball would absolutely agree with you.

I'd add Biggio, Todd Helton and maybe Torii Hunter.

I'd like to see A-Rod win the series
with a walk off homer, with the caveat that he rounds the bases  at Yankee Stadium with both middle fingers high in the air and then curbstomps Jeter on home plate.

I almost said that
but didn't want to face the inevitable shitstorm.  And when I almost said it, I was actually serious.

I actually think I'd be marginally happy
if Bonds won the WS. Especially if he did it in SF, where they love him (and also because a lot of my close friends are big Giants fans).

Plus, he's taken a lot of shit over the years, a lot of it deservedly so, but a lot of the criticism has been unfair too. As Jeff so eloquently put it,

"Barry Bonds is neither the first player to (allegedly) cheat nor the first player to be a dick."

Absolutely Bonds
And on the same note Clemens. Never mind what Rocket's done in the past, I just want to see them win without being on the juice (and when their competition isn't on it, either) so they can give the collective F-U to the masses who immediately assume now that they'd never be talented without roids. These weren't the only guys who took them, and they'd still be pretty damn talented if they hadn't.

i agree
I was happy when Pujols won despite being on a mediocre team for the same reason.  When you're so much better than everyone else, there's something tragic about not winning a championship.  Maybe because we know it opens the door for the media to unjustly downgrade the player's abilities in the minds of many.
holt shit its christmas.

How about the entire 40 man roster that the M's carry into this season. It's not about who will win it, it's about who I want to see win it. Of the current players who I'd genuinely be happy to see win it? Ichiro for sure, Beltre and Putz too. Bedard and Felix, but they both have plenty of time to keep being awesome after this season (hopefully spending the next decade at the front of the M's rotation!)

Sorry, you pushed me down the optimism hill. Now it's just snowballing :)

No hangover.
Had about 4 drinks and got into a coughing fit (unrelated to the drinking). Limited myself to only two more the rest of the night, because the coughing was making me need to piss too badly ever 5 seconds. The big celebration is today, though, so I'll let you know how it goes, if I remember it.

Man...
I'm fucked up. But thanks. I drank... a lot? But some girl I'm seeing/not seeing because she's fucking insane made out with me for like 20 minutes. So it was a good night. She's a pool shark too, so we beat like the other 10 people there 5-0, or whatever.

Anyway. Fuck this, I'm going to play Halo until I throw up. Thanks guys.
