Laird--->Tigers
Texas gets RHPs Guillermo Moscoso and Carlos Melo. Moscoso is a 25 year old who put up a 4.64 tRA* at AA Erie last season. Melo is a 17 year old. I got nothin'.
Detroit doesn't have to throw ridiculous amounts of money at Varitek and they pick up a pretty okay player. Texas adds minor league pitching depth, which will be awesome because maybe someday they can make it to the majors and have their confidence destroyed. Also, I'd like to take this opportunity to say Inge Inge Inge please God get Brandon Inge.
So long one-man-five-tools, I shall miss your face.

Also, Darren Oliver accepted arbitration with the Angels so they don't get his 2 Type A picks...
Thank God. I’m still baffled he was Type A.

Beltre is likely to be Type B.
The next CBA needs to fix that shit.

I thought Elias was responsible for that nonsense

They are, but the standards were agreed too in the CBA.
I don’t think they’ve changed since they were agreed too in 1983.

I love how Texas keeps trading for pitching.
Reconstructing Arlington is the only solution.

Or build a giant dome that surrounds Arlington and install giant dehumidifiers

Arlington isn't the problem
Bad pitchers do worse in Arlington than good pitchers. Texas has more bad pitchers than anyone.

Baseball Reference has their park factor...
…at 100 or 101 for the last three years. My guess is that shitty defense is their biggest problem—from the Hardball Times’ team page, the Rangers had the worst team +/- in the AL this year, and off the top of my head, it seems like they’ve had more awful defenders than they’ve had great defenders.

Their pRAA was almost -150 last year so that can't be very helpful either.

Fair enough
That can be solved without reconstructing Arlington, too.

Its tough to name which starting pitcher you'd want from their team

B-Ref has something weird going on with park factors.
If you look at yearly runs at home versus runs on the road (by both Texas and their opponents), there are tons more scored at home. It is a top five hitters’ park. They have bad pitchers, bad fielders, and a home park that increases scoring a lot.
