NL lineups by WAR
Same disclaimers as last time, only now we're looking at the superior league.
PHI, 24.01, ATL 21.49, NYM 21.30, FLA 18.72, WAS 16.72
NL CENTRAL
CHC 22.24, STL 21.49, MIL 19.87, CIN 18.64, HOU 13.99, PIT 13.21
NL WEST
COL 18.39, SF 17.25, LA 17.18, AZ 15.28, SD 13.06
Random stuff:
-Ryan Howard was roughly the sixth best position player on the Phillies last year. I'd bet even money that he'll bounce back and be at least half as good as Chase Utley in 2009.
-The Cubs are annoying
-Aaron Boone is bad at baseball
-Brad Hawpe was easily my favorite player to project
-Bocock! was the first

I tried to look at the spreadsheets, but it said I didn’t have access. One thing I found interesting is that the Giants offense isn’t as awful as it’s made out to be (that’s not to say it’s good).
With our staff and improved bullpen, we should have a shot at winning the West.

If you're interested
Signing up for Google docs takes about 20 seconds

Plus I wouldn't get too excited
Marcels seems to overvalue young players a little

Too excited
I’m definitely not that, I just think next year should be interesting for Giants fans. We’ve improved our team quite a bit this offseason, and the other teams have all taken steps back.

I hope that's not true.
You're trying to kidnap what I've rightfully stolen.

I'm an idiot and hit the "enter" key.
Anyway, I hope your comment on Marcels isn’t true. Otherwise, Wlad is looking pretty bad right now.

Hmm
I didn’t realize I had to sign up. I am already logged into my gmail account, what else do I need to do?

Click 'Docs' in the top right hand corner.

It's weird
I’ve looked at Google docs before, for example I looked at your NL WAR (Hitters) spreadsheet the other day. These aren’t working for some reason though. Clicking on Docs brings me to what amounts to an Inbox of docs I’ve looked at recently, but I don’t seem to be able to sign up for anything.

I tried looking and don’t have access.

Yup
It’s working for me now. Thanks!

Don't get too excited
Marcel doesn’t look at minor league stats and doesn’t regress toward the mean, so it’s very inaccurate when dealing with players without a lot of MLB playing (usually way too optimistic). Check out what Marcel projects for Burriss, Sandoval, Ishikawa and Velez. The projections range from optimistic (Ish) to ridiculous (Burriss).
..so allow me to present Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain as two sweet, sweet bottles of warming hooch.

You can get Marcels
At FanGraphs, by the way.

Marcels regress towards league average.
it’s 5/4/3 for the last 3 seasons plus 2 seasons of league average.
So a player with no ML data whatsoever projects as league average.

Going by this, plus the RJ signing, makes you think the Giants might be faves in the NL West.

You would think
but had basically no defensive data to go off of, so the margin of error is even bigger than usual.

I've already resigned myself to this.
And during the course of it, the Giants will eliminate the DBacks from the playoffs sometime between September 20-25th when the Unit pitches 8 innings of shutout ball with 11 K’s.
