LL Sport Gathering Circa Thanksgiving
So, football? Or something (hockey!!) ?
Friday after turkey day? Saturday? Sunday (booo) ?
We need votes on both issues so... um... yeah. Have at it.

No one that works retail is going to be able to come Friday or Saturday, most likely.
Just throwin’ that out there.
J.K.L.
I can not imagine any situation where Friday works for me.
Saturday might be swingable depending on how late in the day in day it is. Regardless I am up for some Saturday night drinking. Heavily if possible.
We will have likely lost to the cowboys in the last 48 hours so I will be spectacularly ranty that night
As long as Scrappy hasn't scrapped anything then at least it will be a safe ranting.

God I hope there isn't a magestically stabby person
By the way nola, how did you enjoy Roberts texts the other night. Me hears they were quite funny
Football
Friday or Saturday. I want to drink when I’m done, and I’ll be sore the next day, so Sunday does me no good.
Considering I will have no job and will be commandeering rc's house that weekend, I am up for any day.
Although me playing football might not be the best idea.

For those that are 21+
myself, my lovely wife, and a few other friends are going to the Supersuckers/Green River show Saturday night the 29th. There will be much drinking. Said drinking will probably commence at the Lava Lounge, move to the Nitelite, then on to the Showbox. If anybody wants to join, awesome; if not, and if our weekends were to coincidentally intersect anyway, so much the better.

uhhhhhhh showtime?
I think it’s a doors at 8 first band at 9 thing, at least according to the showbox website. First band being Zeke, we’ll probably show up at the showbox around 9.30 – I’ve seen Zeke before, they’re fine but having seen them a few times I’m in no great hurry to see them again.

speaking of showtime
how was the Sonics? I heard from another friend that was there that Little Steven showed up and played with them. Envy is a reasonably sufficient word for what i was feeling as I kept getting photos texted to me Saturday night.

They were pretty effing awesome.
I sense you have yet to see my Facebook missive on the subject.
All the stupid squares in my section sat down while GT were playing. That was annoying.

Just getting caught up with emails and the like, I'm tackling facebook here shortly
How anybody can sit down during Girl Trouble is beyond me. Did they hand out gifts, even though it was a Big Rock Show?

Yes and my streak of always getting a prize remains in tact.
Most of the people in my sections sat during the Sonics and shot daggers at my girlfriend and I for dancing.

I've only not gotten a prize about three times
glad to hear they still did that.
Nice Guys Finish Third - Hopelessly lost, but makin' good time.
They had a LOT of prizes to give out.
God bless ‘em. To think that they recently played the China Clipper and Jules Mae’s….
One of their best shows, but maybe that’s just because I was sort of giddy.
So what you're saying is that you are, in this instance, choosing not to ride with Zeke?
Even though the future is uncertain and bleak? You would knowingly turn down the opportunity to get it on, get up, take the beat by riding with Zeke?

I like Zeke
T-500!
Donny’s wife cuts my hair, at the barbershop under Rontrose Heathman’s coffee shop. I think the Zeke/Supersuckers Tacoma combo-pack thing is pretty cool.
I have nothing against Zeke as such
it’s more that I’ve seen them enough times that if I miss a few minutes/half/all of their set it won’t kill me. Where is Rontrose’s coffee shop?

Across the street from Wright Park, on Division and I st..
Only place in T-town that serves stumptown, which might be attractive to me if I liked coffee.
It’s a great place, and the barbershop is great. And it’s 2 blocks to the Parkway, one of T-town’s great neighborhood bars. I can’t think of a situation in which you might go to Tacoma and not Seattle, but if you do….
God I wish
but I really do need to visit family that weekend.
I think I might like to take part in this, get blind drunk, and spoon royalcurve awkwardly in public view.
This has been a dream of mine for some time now.
Screw you, Mariners. I'm back in football's loving arms. *edit: well, shit. This isn't going well.
Football Friday or Saturday
I’ll be on a plane on Sunday. I’d be willing to give hockey a try if only for the entertainment value.
I refuse to skate
but I’d be willing to play hockey if everyone else is down. Hockey was the only sport I was naturally good at as a kid, and I’m excited to see how much I’ve regressed since I was 12.
If you refuse to skate
won’t that make playing hockey a little challenging?

Not that it matters. Anyone who’s played any NHL09 understands that we only have three people capable of scoring a goal anyway.

Spez should try aiming for the goal with those.

This probably is a good time to mention that hockey would be much more expensive than football.
Unless of course someone has some mad rink and equipment rental hook-ups.
Would you stop with the contradictions

it’s not really a contradiction because noting the high cost does not necessarily negate my initial willingness to play. I was just trying to be informative :P

Well that’s sad. That was the only thing that was remotely worthwhile relating to that game. It wasn’t even that funny, so that’s saying something.
I give up on knowing what this was.

I think I'm only seeing about 6 yes votes to even play
WTF? We’ve got to get at least 10 people to run any of Brett’s trick plays.
I do know of a woman that’s interested if there’s another woman to play opposite of (Nola?)
Only about a third of my plays are trick plays....
Ok, that’s a lot…

That because our trick plays never ever ever ever work
But we should make sure to call a TO on 4th down just for funs.

Treat it like a 10 year high school reunion.
Casual drinks at a bar on Friday night.
Football and more drinks on Saturday.
Bloody Mary’s and general frivolity on Sunday.
Where the heck would we go to get in a game of hockey (and/or broomball)?

So you and Matthew could play 1 on 1?
While everyone else is exhausted? You’ve got to remember, most of us suck at athletic things. The thing about football is there’s breaks between plays

I run the stats for traditional football at Willamette
and I still don’t see the game well from field level. I’m a little excited when I can tell where the ball is going to go.

Decisions Made:
-Beer will be involved on Saturday night
-As will the Senators game if it’s on Center Ice
-There might be a sporting gathering on Sunday as well as on Friday/Saturday
I'm up for Saturday or Sunday. No playing football or hockey or whatever though
One of my ankles is hobbled. I can videograph and run the snack stand.

Anyway, as I know my schedule is clear except Thanksgiving Day (dont have work schedule for that week yet)
Yeah... I think it might be time to do that
Maybe there’s call for two different events… Friday Football and one of the weekend days for drinking and watching hockey or something?
So let's actually get a consensus and plan.

It seems like a lot of people want to do something as a group on Saturday, and then play football on Sunday. How does that sound?
Like it's time to find some pompoms or a role in football that means I only have to catch.

I told you, you can borrow my pom poms.
I am up for drinking Saturday night and making snacks for Sunday. No can do on actual playing football, as I have an easily re-injured ankle. Just tell me where and when.
Sunday football sounds great
Where and when? Preferably I get to sleep in/sleep off Saturday night…

Now it’s time to decide which day(s). Do all of them work for you?
I don't even know if any of the days work for me it
I’m just saying the discussion really just needs to be about Friday vs Saturday (sat seems better for most) and what.
New thread sounds good
For whoever wants to put it together. I’m too worn out from work today. =/
Friday or Saturday are perfect for football. I just want to know what day asap so I can make other plans for the weekend.
