One Last Post About LL Football
Being that the previous FanPost about LL football has fallen off the rec list & its comments have been closed, here is a new one. This way if anyone wants to check the time or place, or decides at the last minute that they can/can't make it, voila - there is a FanPost for that person's needs.
We will be playing football on Friday at noon at Cal Anderson Park in Capitol Hill. We usually meet near the soccer field. Some times the field is in use. When that's the case we often head over to Seattle University's field.
After the game is over we'll make our way to an eatery for drinks and food.
There's going to be a good crowd there. It includes: Katal, John, Matthew, Graham, Brett, Ningwers + friends, Omerta, Nola, Two Rs and Two Ls, and Tootthekazoo. Robert will even show up later for those who stick around.

I won't be able to make it for the football
But I’ll try and see if I can get down there when everyone’s still hanging out at said eatery.

I wish I could hang for the food and drink
But, such is life. I have the opposite problem of Robert’s since I have to leave early for work

Just got back from Anacortes...
…ow. I do believe I’m officially retired from tackle football…it was fun when younger but my body takes too much of a beating now. Fortunately my buddies and I had the good sense to cut out early and play ping pong instead.
Looking forward to meeting all of you tomorrow. Probably wont be going for drinks afterward as I have a friend’s birthday party to attend but will definately enjoy the game itself.
Off to Thanksgiving dinner!

As I look out the window I am questioning my decision to go to this.
But never fear. I’ll be there.

D'oh!
Something has come up on the homefront, I will not be in attendance.
Since this happens everytime I sign up for one of these, I’ll stop doing it and just show up if I ever can actually stop having emergencies pop up to disrupt fun.
Sorry guys/gal. :(

Leaving for the park in just a minute... hope to see at least 7 other folks there
so we can have a respectable game of 4 vs 4.

That was a hell of a time
I wish I could have stayed for longer and caught the post game food and drink as well. Another time, I suppose.

And then you could meet me
Shame I didn’t make it, guys. I was a pair of cleats and a job from making it. I have to keep money tight until I’m back to work, so I had to lay low.
Plan another one soon and I should be able to make it. Yes, I’m finally going to get some cleats before I do, and then I’ll burn you motherfuckers.

I'm sore as hell
but wouldn’t have it any other way. Excellent day.
I hope we don’t have to wait so long for the next football game.

I feel that. Aches and pains all over the body.
I just realized today that the back of my head is still tender from delivering a headbutt smash to NOLA. Hope the after effects are minimum for you, too.

I have a nice swollen bump over my eye.
Beer helped.

I'll have to buy you a drink sometime to make up for it.

I don't object to free drinks.

There were less free drinks for robert than were promised since the last LL meetup

You would have had a free drink if you showed up after work

Damn it I will buy you a drink and a happy meal next time.
I owe you anyway.

Why must you poke fun by offering him a happy meal?
At least go for a Big Kid’s meal or something. More food, and you still get a toy

I have hardly been able to lift my legs this weekend
And I wasn’t even there the whole time. And I have sore ribs from when NOLA and I ran elbows-first into each other at one point. I missed this “headbutt smash,” but is sounds like she took a beating out there

You missed when four of them fell on me, too.
by NOLAmarinergirl on Nov 30, 2008 8:22 PM PST up reply actions 0 recs
That had my jaw smarting for about an hour
Something tells me I didn’t get nearly the worst of it, though.
by katal on Nov 30, 2008 8:51 PM PST up reply actions 0 recs
Sounds like I left at the right time
Because there is no way I would have avoided ending up in that kind of a pig pile

SBN v2.0wned
Maybe it’s a good thing I didn’t go to this one. Something tells me I would’ve broken something AGAIN in this melee.
Not that I’ll miss the next one, but I think I dodged a bullet.

NOLA wrecked my chest very shortly after I was informed of your broken rib incident
And her elbow caught me right in the ribs on the lower left side (the false ribs, which are flimsy and worthless). I though for a minute that I had suffered the same fate

Jesus
Other than me crashing into you, I think I only saw the one or two times you tripped up and fell, and the time that Graham tried to slide tackle your legs out from under you for some reason or other. Hopefully when we do Bowling: Part 2 you will be able to avoid injury

I didn't see you fall more or less than anybody else
I blame my raging head/chest cold, but I felt worthless out there, and between all the dropped passes by all of us, and all the collisions and people falling down, I’d say it was a miracle nobody left missing a limb or something

The headbutt smash is what happens when unathletic (and relatively athletic) people slam into each other
while trying to run crossing patterns.
