Around SBN: SB Nation interviews Jerome Bettis

When BBWAA voters actually do their job (sort of) well.

Albert Pujols won the NL MVP.

Thank the baseball gods for this one. After the Phillies won the WS, I figured it would be a landslide for Howard and another undeserving win for a Philly player. Turns out the writers followed the novel concept of actually giving the award to the best player in baseball instead of someone who was really good two years ago before pitchers figured out to never throw him a fastball and turned him into Adam Dunn. I don't think he's below average(maybe that's just the hype still with me) but he's not even close to an MVP.

In other news, Chase Utley got 30 points. Carlos Delgado got 96. Someone needs to demand a trade right now.

they supposedly vote for all the awards before the post-season...

so they can’t bias the results. So I doubt that would matter any.

Howard and Dunn are both above-average hitters.

But yes, Howard winning the MVP would have been atrocious.

Those two first place votes for Lidge are a travesty.

But not as bad as Edinson Volquez getting three ROY votes.

I like using semi-colons; they make me feel smart.
