On the advice from Robert, Im puting the link to my vacation pictures here as well.
It was a great trip. It kinda sucked not being able to keep up on the M's and missing out on almost two weeks of what was going on here but it was a sacrifice I was willing to make. Just in a nutshell...
-New Jersey sucks
-The ceremonies at Yankee Stadium were beyond awesome
-I can tolerate the people in New York for about three days before I get REALLY pissed at them
-Fenway is still cool even though I fucking hate their team
-The fans at Shea are...different
-Baltimore and DC both have great stadiums but rain + no roof = GAY
-I miss Adam Jones. Talking to him during the game and him remembering me were a couple of the major highlights of the trip
-Philly is alright, nothing too special but still cool to see a different ballpark
-What the hell were the organizers thinking having ceremonies after the game at Shea, just stupid.

Fenway will never not be cool
and I’m gonna miss Shea. I was a weekend ticket package holder there in 2002 and I loved that place – it was a shithole, but it was an entertaining shithole, which was cool.
Nice Guys Finish Third - Hopelessly lost, but makin' good time.
Even in 2002 it looked like they just sorta gave up on finishing building the place
behind the outfield fence is what looked like a construction zone – half-built wooden things of indeterminate origin, storage for various bits of field equipment, and at least one riding lawn mower. It looked like somebody’s garage. Oddly refreshing in a day and age when everything’s in a pretty package for TV consumption. And it matched the neighborhood.

Since the Mets lost, half the fans just left
the people who remained proceeded to boo the first 5-10 minutes of the ceremony. It was kinda shitty but at the same time it was funny.

Looks like you had a good trip.
I was in NYC the last weekend, too. Went to the Jets game, though. 6 TD passes by Favre and lots of fumbles by Warner beats seeing the Mets lose. It was stupid to have the ceremony after the game.
Having recently been both to Shea and Yankee stadium, I can see why they’re building new ones. Both places are pretty run down. Giants stadium on the other hand still looks pretty good to me, so I think building this new Meadowlands complex is kind of a waste at this time.
