Polling LL!! Who's your most hated team.
Lot of talk lately about the most hated team. The big bad wolf. The evil empire. Talk is talk, lets put it to the LL community and settle this thing.
I'm limiting my choices to the teams I feel are the most hated, this isn't a basket primary, this isn't a two party deal either. If there's a team you feel is deserving and is not represented, put it down for a write in!
Save your rhetoric! Vote!

I'm savoring this moment. 100% Yankees. Unfortunately it won't last.
How I loathe the Yankme’s. Steinbrenner and his progeny. The entitlement, their history. The notion that the road to the World Series leads through them.

Yankees.
It has to be the Yankees. Even though the Boston fans have probably been worse in the last couple of years than Yankee fans have ever been, the Yankees are pretty much always going to be the team to gun for.
It’s got to be some combination of the pinstripes and no names on the back, Jeter’s bad (but well respected) defense, Showalter’s comments about Griffey’s backwards hat, Paul O’Neill, the ’95 playoffs, the Jeffery Maier incident, the 2000 & 2001 playoffs, and the extreme salaries.
I remember Griffey at one point saying he’d rather retire than play for the Yankees, because of how they treated him when he was a kid and his dad was playing there.

Lately the Angels have been dominate, but for most of my formative years it seemed like it was the A's.

I have never hated the As except for in 1989, but that was due to the Bay Bridge series.

My only memory

I was a senior in High School
And the A’s may have been my most hated team that year.

Yeah, I used to hate the A's more than the Angels too.
I’m actually surprised I haven’t seen more people agree in this thread.

They've flip-flopped.
But I hate them both more than I do the Yankees and Sox.

Yankees
- The 2000 ALCS
- The 2001 ALCS
- Their POS Stadium
- Their POS new stadium
- Derek Jeter, who is infinitely more intolerable than any Red Sock
- Their payroll
- Anyone with the last name of Steinbrenner
- Something tells me that even today, they have more bandwagon fans than RSN
- Jeff Maier
- The arrogance of their fans
- The hyping of every single mediocre NYY prospect
- Not entirely unrelated to the last point, ESPN
- Feeling bad for the Mets
- The team’s obnoxious history
- The fact that their fans care more about Boston than they do their team
- A-Rod. Screw you if you say I should be over hating him by now.
- Batteries thrown at Jay Buhner
- Paul O’Neil

Holy crap! Between you and 2R & 2L's, somebody's keeping track!
Paul O’Neill, what a crybaby. Probably Steinie’s illegitimate son.

The fact that every big-name free-agent comes down to a discussion of will it be the Yankees or that signs them.

Why don't I get warnings like this?
Mine usually say things like, “you’re an idiot,” and “Don’t be mean, you’re not Graham,” and “leave, and never come back.”
I’d love some variety.
I suffer for baseball so damn much.

Philadelphia Phillies
Knobs are polished by the Media constantly.
Victorino and Rollins are shit-talkers and get upset if anyone else does.
Their fans are the worst in baseball.
They’re poised to win back to back to back MVP awards with none of the players winning deserving it.
For this poll I’m picking the Yankees.

LAAAAAAAAAA
In addition to what they’ve done to the Mariners in recent years, I’m bitter that they were so terrible while I was a fan of theirs as a child, and jealous of their present success. Thunderstix. Rally Monkies. Bandwagon SoCal fans. K-Rod.
Their exit from the post-season this year was delightful.

I hate both the Yankees and Angels
but I guess the Yankees a hair more, because if those two met in the postseason I’d want the Yankees to lose more.
Many reasons to hate those two teams, some already listed, but most of all the Yankees for their undeserved (anymore) smarmy sense of entitlement and the Angels for their perceived “scrappiness” and the fact that they turn out to be wimpy pushovers for the Red Sox, etc.

The angels are OK
They don’t have an ungodly budget (yankees) or horrible fans (red sox). They understand how to play the game and the M’s are just the unlucky team that has to get beaten by them. a lot.

SOX
It’s not that I really hate the any of the Red Sox at all personally, it’s that I hate everything the Sox represent (media bias, huge payroll, soulless fan bandwagoning)
by Simon Phoenix on Oct 19, 2008 1:06 AM PDT reply actions 0 recs
All the same reasons
Except I do hate many of the Red Sox personally:
Youkilis whines perpetually
Crisp starts shit
Pedroia for…well I just don’t like Pedroia
Papelfag for that retarted stare shit he does before every pitch

Angels closely followed by the Sox.
I don’t have much problem with the Yankees, but then again I have been witness to wins from both HoRam and Washburn against them so they don’t seem so scary to me after that.
I was at Shea for the Felix-Slam!
Personal M's record: 5-4.

I despise the Angels, partially because of how overrated some of their players are.
Torii Hunter, GMJ (who’s been playing at his actual talent level thank God), Garrett Anderson, etc. At least they dumped Kotchman for 2 months of Tex. Imagine if Raul went to LA……
And, of course, they’re our division rivals. Texas and the A’s are too cute to hate.

I kind of like Cleveland, probably because Indians isn't PC.
But I wouldn’t question your choice for an instant, there are no wrong answers! Unless you actually like the Yankme’s, then I will be forced to hunt you down. Just kidding. Maybe.

Not really
I have dislike for the teams in the poll. It’s just that I figure Mariner fans have more actual history with Cleveland than the others.
I don’t have the history to really appreciate how baseball rivalries develop, but having read into Mariner history I’d have thought that 1995 against Cleveland would have ignitied something.

For the sake of the poll
I would have to say its a toss-up between the Empire and the Nation. Both represent all that is wrong with sports…buying championships, bloated payrolls, healthy dose of East Coast bias, loud and obnoxious fans (and loud, obnoxious and dynastic ownership in the case of the Empire), etc. However, since I am a fan of the national league, overall I would rate the Cardinals and Mets as my absolutely most hated teams. The Cardinals because they are the regional rival and I am sooooooo sick of hearing they have the best fans in baseball…bull. They’re just as much slobbering, lazy drunks as the rest of us…well, me at least. The Mets because of an irrational hatred born 4 years before I was linked to a stupid superstition, drug addled former superstars coddled by management and media in the 80s, and that POS stadium of theirs that is finally coming down in a blaze of choking glory.
Time is an illusion--lunch time doubly so.
