"Hole in one, eh?"

You all heard the plan:

Go opposite field. You can’t win against offspeed pitching unless you hit everything opposite field.

by Double06 on Oct 15, 2008 5:03 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Hole in a wall.

Hole. In. A. Wall.

I….I don’t even know what to say.

by Goose on Oct 15, 2008 5:08 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

It's funny on YouTube for 5 minutes.

Why they made a half hour segment of it on a weekly basis boggles the mind.

by Double06 on Oct 15, 2008 5:10 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah know, I don't know what to make of the Terminator Series.

It’ll have about 2-3 good episodes in a row, then have one really really bad episode. Then it just repeats the cycle.

by Goose on Oct 15, 2008 5:17 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

I couldn't stomach it myself.

Interesting idea, but I’ve yet to see an episode I could watch for more than three minutes without rolling my eyes and changing the channel.

I'm back to liking midgets too much (Scrappy's comes first, don't worry).

I hope Sharp and TBS aren’t flummoxed by my behavior.

Reminded me of the Twins in the '87 WS.

"Sorry I hit you in the helmet Hank, I meant to hit you in the neck." Stan Williams to Hank Aaron.

by dpseadv on Oct 15, 2008 8:31 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Last years playoffs were much worse.

3 DS sweeps, with a fourth going just 4 games. A NLCS sweep and a WS sweep.

by Goose on Oct 15, 2008 6:18 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

It might be one of the most unmemorable series ever IMO.

I remember Game 6 being pretty good….and that’s just about it.

by Goose on Oct 15, 2008 6:26 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I take that back. 2005 was worse.

That was the first World Series I can remember that I got bored watching.

by Goose on Oct 15, 2008 6:28 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

2005 was the worst WS ever

two mediocre teams, no superstars beside Clemens (who got hurt), and a sweep.

by JI on Oct 15, 2008 6:31 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Seriously.

There are times when people talk about the White Sox winning a World Series and my first reaction is “They did?…..oh yeah.”

by Goose on Oct 15, 2008 6:33 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

As much as it pains me to say it, I thought the 2000 World Series was great.

I didn’t give a shit about the NY-NY thing, but every one of those games was exciting.

by Teej on Oct 15, 2008 6:32 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

It's on the list

The best part is that game 6 was a blow out so it gave you time to anticipate an awesome game 7.

by JI on Oct 15, 2008 6:35 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Me too.

And I didn’t even give a shit about the DBacks then(although that what was planted the seed).

by Goose on Oct 15, 2008 6:36 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Same

I called up all my relatives in NY to rub it in.

by Robert on Oct 15, 2008 6:36 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Game 7 was one of my favorite games of all time.

I actually thought about becoming a DBacks fan because of how much fun I had watching them, but it wasn’t meant to be

Let's get those green gloves going.

by BUCKETSinSB on Oct 15, 2008 6:21 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah

He’s from New York, the Yankees have money, need a DH, and would like to stick it to Boston. Plus, he and Alex together…

by JI on Oct 15, 2008 6:46 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

But Manny creates a logjam in the OF

Obviously he’s the best, but they already have Damon, Matsui, Cabrera, Gardner, Nady, and that’s making the assumption that they don’t pick up Abreu’s option

Go Nova

by dbroncos31 on Oct 15, 2008 8:35 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Manny is the DH

No one in their right mind would project him as an outfielder over the length of that deal.

by JI on Oct 15, 2008 8:36 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah, but that still keeps at least 2 of those OF on the bench.

And Posada might not be able to catch. IMO, they are best served by getting Tex and CC. So I really hope they get Manny, but to me the move would cause a roster problem

Go Nova

by dbroncos31 on Oct 15, 2008 8:41 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Oh I agree completely.

Plus the fact that they can stick it to Boston. I’m sure Hank is pushing for that, but it’s not a move I’d make

Go Nova

The Yankees would go from being my 27th favorite team to my 14th or 15th

Will you pay me to put this paragraph in the middle of my midterm essay?

Those Indian bitches were jealous of the ass-whooping the US gave to the Brits fifty years earlier and wanted in on some of that action and resolved to kick some fucking tory ass. They failed but their heart was in the right place.
