What the hell, Billy Beane consults on a video game?

Sporting News Article

MarketWatch Article

The source I found this on seems to think it could be good due to the developer (Blue Castle Games). If nothing else it could provide another competitor to the OOTP/Baseball Mogul world. Still a real development team and an actual license makes it a pretty attactive option for fantasy GMs of the world.

I can't wait for Geoff Baker's winter articles on his team!

Winter articles?

You mean late-season-but-still-in-season posts?

Only a real man would consult on a video game.

The road to hell is paved with Mariners.

In my defense on formatting issues

it was like 3am and I did try to put enough words in it to make the limit. Didn’t know about the chain thing but I should’ve used tinyurl.

You know what? Fuck you Sports Gods, fuck you.

You could download the demo on the site...BEFORE YOU SCOFF...

The demo is the full game, just with a time limit. Either after 10 days or during your 2nd offseason (whichever comes first) it will stop you from continuing. From there you can either buy it or forget about it. If you buy it, everything you did during the demo can be continued and is saved, etc.

Really deep game. Apparently you can continue a franchise forever, and you can start a regular league, an entirely fake league (including making your own logos and jerseys), or do a historic league starting from practically anywhere since 1900.

Keeps track of records better than anything I have seen, too.

OOTP is really cool

but it’s a tad bloated. I love all the options but that game uses gigantic system resources for no apparent reason
