New Blog: Sounder At Heart for Seattle Sounders Fans!

Most amazing thing ever

First of all, let me just point out I am from Syracuse, NY, where there are about 5 Mariner fans in a 200 mile radius of me.

Anyways, last night I went to a local restaurant with my friends.  I got a table before my friends all showed up.  As I was sitting at my table waiting, I was just spacing out playing tetris on my cell phone, when I heard the group across from me talking.  I wasn't sure a first if I heard right, but as I kept listening I was sure.

"Yeah see lookout landing is like that, they are really tight and have get togethers and football games and everything."

My mind sorta kinked out, waiiiit, am I really hearing people talk about LL in SYRACUSE fucking New York?

Curious, I leaned over and asked, and I was right.  Two of the kids are both posters on here, and have been for some time.  We talked about the website and Mariners baseball for about ten minutes before my friends showed up, both of us agreeing we sorta wish we hadn't ever found LL because we would think the FO knew what they were doing... Ignorance is bliss I guess.

It was just so weird.  I would imagine they are the only other Syracuse LL readers here, and I just happened to be seated next to them in a restaurant while they started talking about the website.

Anyways, I'm terrible with names and forgot their usernames, although I wanna say one of the kids was ckel... though that's probably not spelled right.

"are you guys talking about LL?"
My jaw basically dropped when you said that. Props for gettin the name right, btw. My friend doesn't really post on here, but he's from Seattle and visits the site from time to time. I'm so glad I felt the need to talk about LL around the dinner table haha, what a coincidence. Anyways, do you have a sn dude? We should definitely hit up some (Sky)Chief games or something when the time comes.

sn is the same as my username
And I'm down for a chiefs game, the stadium without turf looks amazing now, like an actual ballfield

just hit me up over AIM... we can have a Syracuse LL meetup!

haha
maybe Bill Bavasi will fly out to cater to his East Coast fan base, all 6 of us. I haven't seen the new field at Alliance Bank yet, so that sounds good.

Cuse
Hey, I guess this is a good place to make my first post. First off, Im a Cubs fan, but this summer I fell in love with the 07 Mariners during a summer stay seattle. Secondly, Im from syracuse so this is pretty cool to stumble upon. you cuse guys must know SU basketball is the only good sports thing goin in syracuse so you can only imagine how awesome it was for me to go to all the games at safeco this summer.(I didn't see the jays series there to see any chiefs alumni, but since I go to RIT I did recognize some of the twins/ rochester redwings guys)

.....Im just psyched about the randomness of this diary haha

cuse
well they should beat up on the USFs and johnnies, Onuaku is awesome, but I have a feeling we will miss devendorf against west virginia or georgetown. So what chiefs game will we declare LL hopefully not one with snow.....

It's gotta be may at the earliest for me
I'm away at college until at least early may, later if our baseball team does can do well in SUNYACs (our conference playoffs)  We really need to have this Cuse area LL meetup, it would be amazing

As for Cuse basketball, I have man love for Johnny Flynn and I'm not afraid to admit it.  Neither USF or SJ are powerhouse teams, but 2-0 is 2-0

what about donte green
the first time i saw him play the only thing i could think of was "if there could be another kevin durant, this would be the kid"

you guys have had some of my favorite non UCLA players over the past five or six years - melo, demetris nichols, gerry mcnamara, now green and flynn

chiefs
yeah I just got out to a couple before i went to Seattle,(mostly to see former cubs AAA prospects) its a pretty big leap to go from 500 people crowds at chiefs games to sold out games in safeco against the redsox

I visited Cornell
and took a train to Boston.  Upstate NY was not as nice as I thought it was gonna be.  I don't want to say Syracuse sucks but it definitely might.

Syracuse takes some getting used to
I wouldn't have it any other way. We have some of the strangest weather anywhere, id have to say. Our winters are really cold, and our summers can be really warm. I like to have both extremes there, I go boating in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter.

weather
well as much as I've enjoyed living in syracuse for 21 years, I gotta say, my plan right now is to move to seattle after I graduate and make some money. I will miss our awesome fall colors though if i do move to the evergreen state, thats one of the best parts about living in central new york.

My favorite part is probably pricing
You can get for $100K a house that costs 6 or 700K in other places... it's cheap, destiNY is comin in soon, lots to do.  Syracuse is a fun city and yet it's no too congested or over populated. It's the perfect size

Happy Valley anyone?
I'm pretty sure I'm the only M's fan/LL reader in State College, Pennsylvania. But, you never know-maybe some students at Penn State from Seattle.
