alot of them
are journeymen career minor leaguers looking for another place to call home for a year.

Some, yes.
Barzilla, Corcoran, Hulett, Kiger, Sardinha, and Ust have all been around.

I knew Hulett and Ust.
I hadn't heard of the others.

Not much to hear
Corcoran was signed back in November, Barzilla fairly recently, and this is the first I'd heard of either Kiger or Sardinha being in the organization, though I'd heard the names of both before.

Big difference between the Quebeqois
and the French. Parisians would rather speak 'merican English with them than French, which says a lot with regard to how contorted their dialect is. Especially considering that Parisians would rather you stepped on their balls than speak English.

I know, I know
I was referencing some idiot who kept going on about how bad a draft pick Aumont was because he's French.

Most of these guys never had a prime
This guy here is dead!
Cross him off, then.

That's the first thing I think of whenever someone says "I've never even heard of these guys".

On the plus side
if anyone ever charges the mound Aumont should be able to take care of himself.

I should clarify that I was debating
to what level of detail concerning said sex act would achieve maximum hilarity.

Also, I couldn't decide on a joke, hence this meta discussion.

I've got Bronson's game used jersey baseball card.
Also on it is Michael Garciaparra and Bobby Crosby

Speaking of which
Garciaparra kinda sucked last year.  That makes me feel good.

Sardinha
how does he rate defensively?  Could he be an option if Jones does get traded, maybe a platoon with Wlad?

by MfaninAlaska on Jan 17, 2008 6:25 PM PST reply actions

I don't know about his defense
but he's no good at the plate, so unless he's absolutely spectacular in the field, he's filler.

Brant Ust as a catcher?
Okay then.  I like some of the bullpen guys they're bringing in for a look, including the recovering Stephen KAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHN.

Unrelated
Ron Tugnutt is a funny name for a goaltender.

Not-so-fun fact:
had a slap shot by Derek Plante go through his glove in overtime to win Game 7 of the 96/97 quarterfinals.

That'll change
when you realize he hates all the B gates at SeaTac.

Roy Corcoran is awesome
Besides being the first Corcoran to break into baseball since I started following, his natural uniform number is 47, which is my favorite baseball jersey number (thank you John Mabry), although he is unfortunately wearing 48 at ST.

The fact that I will get to see him pitch in Tacoma is even better.

B gates or not, Roy Corcoran is the man

Bronson Sardinha is who
Matt Tuiasosopo sees in career-related nightmares.

Let's see, over 6', solid, athletic kids drafted as SS.
Hit well in rookie/low-A, power showed up at times, not so much at others.
Half decent patience, but defense forced a position switch.

Sardinha moved to third, where he made the most errors in all of minor league baseball in 2004.  So now he's an OF.   And damn it if the power he should have never showed up.

Career wise, they're eerily similar - so far.   Here's hoping Tui actually does turn the corner.

I was really hoping to see Triunfel in ST
