[editor's note, by marinerschas2] quick favor to ask. I'm working on a project for mvp baseball that you guys will love. All i need is everyones preferred jersey number and their real height. Weight is not needed though

Haha I'm soooo far out in front of that pitch.
Luckily my timing got better as the day went on.  Wonderful shots.  We've got to do this more often.

MVP Baseball is the greatest game of all time
I'm getting by just fine with MLB 2K7 for the 360, but man, I miss my MVP.

Anyway, I wasn't there for softball because I live on the other side of the universe, but if you need an Ignitor for the bench:

My name is Matt Foley. I am 35 years old, I am divorced and I live in A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!

BTW,
Next time we do this, we should get a score card to track the games with exact stats.  After uploading the scanned score card on here, it'll give a better picture of what went down during the games, and then we can give out an official Lookout Landing Softball MVP through a public vote.

How about No. 16, since I'm going to be on the bench?

by Teej on Sep 23, 2007 3:01 PM PDT up reply actions

Man....
I'm bummed that I missed the second game! I'll be back next summer though so I should be able to attend some games.  I figure since it has been so popular we will be playing then too.

please describe a little about what you look like. hair color, size. that type of thing.

by marinerschas2 on Sep 23, 2007 3:24 PM PDT reply actions

(repeating some of what I wrote above)
6 feet, still got the freshman 15 (or 25), so about 200 pounds, white dude, brown hair, unusually thick eyebrows.

Jersey #16 (so Matthew can have #10). If that doesn't work, #84.

I play third base in my rec league, with some extracurricular activity at SS, 1B and anywhere in the outfield. Whatever works. I'm excited to see it, man.

by Teej on Sep 23, 2007 10:38 PM PDT up reply actions

I usually play SS in rec league.
but 2nd, 1st, or P are all fine too.

by FWombat on Sep 23, 2007 5:56 PM PDT up reply actions

I was pretty happy playing
LF in the softball games. Go ahead and stick me there.

You are going to rename Gil Meche 'Jeff Sullivan' and put him on this team, right?

by Graham MacAree on Sep 23, 2007 11:10 PM PDT reply actions

it was him or
Jake woods.

with that, what other players need to be on this team.

Did we have to be at the LL game
to be on the list?

not really
but you kinda have to describe yourself, and you'll be delegated to the bench or long relief/// :)

by marinerschas2 on Sep 24, 2007 3:57 PM PDT up reply actions

The bench is fine, I'll pretend I'm Adam Jones!
5'11, 140lbs , #3 if it's available. Need anything more?

I play SS (mainly), 2nd or the left side of the outfield in rec league, and hit lead-off or 2nd.

Oh yeah, I throw and hit righty.
(I can switch hit some, but I very, very seldom actually do it in games)

Looks like it was a blast guys,
sorry I had to miss it for bowling league.

On the plus side, I did bowl my best game ever, as well as my best series ever, so I was happy on Saturday.

by MarinerintheDistrict on Sep 24, 2007 4:24 PM PDT up reply actions

I was surprised at your 6'11"
I would have guessed 6'9"

Are you sure?
Are you measuring yourself the way the NBA players do (where you add 2 inches to your profile?)

by johnbai on Sep 24, 2007 4:43 PM PDT up reply actions

haha
well to be perfectly honest, I measure out at 6'10.5" without shoes. My trainer in college measured me that, and he was notorious for short-changing players. I was listed as 6'10" in college.

But I am 6'11" in shoes, and that's what it says on my liscense....plus, it'd be a good time for all involved if a team ran out a near 7 footer as their CF haha

Oh, I forgot.
Throw left, bat left.  I can technically bat switch, but  I don't do it religiously like the game would make me do.

Umm
Probably too short to use my real ht.

R/R secondbase #15 (or 44).

Kind of Vidroesque now that I think of it.

one more question
would you guys rather have more accurate looking player models, or more generic models with the possibility of having your portrait in the game?

(note that the portraits may not turn out, seing as most of the pics would be pretty small
