If the season ended right now...

We would be in the playoffs!

Star-divide

Random fun fact.. but for the first time in awhile we actually are ALL alone in first place for the wild card (and not just by a percentage point.)

Detroit fell to Kazmir / Crawford and the TB Devil Rays this morning 8-1 to give us a half game cushion over the reeling Tigers for the wild card lead.  I know that there are many more games to play and that the Tigers might not end up being our toughest challenge in the WC race (read: Yankees,) but for one day - we are in the playoffs; and that is something that really shows this team off.  We had losing streaks of 6 6 and 7 this season and yet here we are.

What do you all think?  Do we actually stand a chance at the wild card slot?  Personally, if the  Yankees ever cool off and stop scoring a bazillion runs a game, they might fall of a bit.  I definitely am leaning towards the argument of the division being easier to win simply because of the amount of games we have against Anaheim in the final month and a half.

Heh
Red Sox keep this up and we might be battling them for the wildcard.

IDK, but I doubt it's the Tigers
their bullpen sucks and their hitting was so lucky the first half that their slide really isn't a surprise to me.

It's us or the Yanks for the WC, which sucks b/c that's going to be the Yanks almost for sure. There were three outcomes to the Bos/NY thing, 2 were great, 1 sucked nuts. We're getting the sucks nuts option.

Shouldn't there

True,
if the season ended right now we'd be in the playoffs.

Also, if your aunt had balls, she'd be your uncle.

But that's really neither here nor there.  As I much as I want to put the M's in the postseason, I'm going to lean Angels/Yankees on this one, although a few more days like yesterday would really boost my optimism.

Let's see how the Yankees look after August
The competition they have until Septemeber is a lot more serious than the competition they rolled over this past month..

with that someone else being the Angels
