M's in Baltimore - 8/7-9

I know a few of us are in the NOVA/DC/MD area. So is anyone thinking about going to any of the games? I'm thinking about Tuesday and maybe Wed. for Felix if I can get the night off. It'd be nice to atleast put a few faces to poster names. So anyone planning on going?

300 character fact du jour: Peanut brittle was originally created by the Nazi's for use in military rations. Brittle was an easy and economical way for them to remove the poison found in raw peanuts (a plentiful crop in Germany).

I'm going on Wednesday
to see Felix pitch, its the day after my birthday and I play to get rip roaring drunk before the game. I'm also steadily converting some of east coast friends to Mariners/Seahawks fans, its been an uphill battle :)

BTW is there anywhere in the DC/Balto area to buy M's gear? I want to get at least an M's hat before the game. I was thinking maybe one of the random street vendors outside of the Orioles park.

Heh, good luck with finding gear
I live in Alexandria and the only time I ever see M's stuff for sale is at stores Lids and HatZone(?) in Pentagon City that pretty much sell stuff for all teams. In my experience though, the vendors outside Camden are usually well stocked with opposing team gear, although the quality seems pretty suspect.

Yeah I tried Pentagon city two weeks ago
and one guy looked at me as if I stepped off a spaceship asking for a Mariners hat. Oh well!! As it turns out I'm also going to Thursday's game also, although I'm not sure if I really want to put myself through watching the Ho pitch.

But yeah I'd love to see a fellow Mariners fan!!

I'm headed to the Felix game on Wednesday
with a car load of my idiot drunken friends from Arlington.

As for gear, I stick to online shopping to ensure its all legitimate, etc.

Going on Thursday
because it was the only day I could get away from work. Sitting in the $5 seats surrounded by drunk Towson students hoping this game turns out better than the last time I saw them at Camden.

I'm going Wed and Thurs
Heading back to Bmore for those games. I will be the tall, skinny mofo sipping on a 2-liter of "soda" (for those that don't know they let you bring in bottles to Camden so what we usually do is pour out some soda and fill in with liquor so we're drinking a gigantic rum and coke the whole game. good times).

Babar-the street vendors should have something.

Anyone have any plans to go anywhere before the games?

So I'm pretty sure,
I'll be heading up from the DC area Tuesday and get tickets at the gates right before they open (try to catch some BP). I don't know how many I got coming with me, but if I have room I'd be happy to drive a fellow M's fan up there if it isn't too far out of the way. If anyone wants we can try to get tix near one another, or try and meetup early for a drink at the harbor or something. Ideas?

I'm still unsure about Felix day but if all else fails, I think ill play hooky and take a sick day. If that works better for others we can try to get something organized for Wed. Planning always the hardest part

Thursday
My buddy and I will be getting cheesesteaks (the owner is from Philly so they're not a cheap imitation) at McGurk's in Federal Hill before the game. It's semi-close to Camden and could potentially be walked, but you may not want to. If you guys are looking for somewhere close to the stadium, Pickles and Sliders are right across the street. The Wharf Rat is pretty good and not too far away on Pratt. The Inner Harbor sucks by the way. Chain restaurants and tourists.

Go M's! I think I'm going to make a Rally Fries sign.
