Wish we were run like the Brewers.
Seriously - if the front office could just take a few cues from that of the Milwaukee Brewers, we would all be so much better off.
Calling up Ryan Braun when it was apparent that the team needed an offensive boost was a great move. Putting him in the three-hole of the lineup shows that they trust their younger players in key situations and what has he done since his promotion? .330/.394/.657 yea.
This isn't just a rant about how good that move was, but also this today..
The Milwaukee Brewers sent slumping second baseman Rickie Weeks to the team's Triple-A farm club in Nashville.
Right-handed pitcher Scott Linebrink was placed on leave after the birth of his first child, the team said Wednesday.
Pitcher Elmer Dessens was recalled from his rehabilitation assignment at Nashville and infielder/outfielder Joe Dillon was brought up from Nashville after Tuesday night's game with the New York Mets.
Weeks was hitting .212 with five homers and 19 runs batted in 75 games. Dillon was batting .317 at Nashville with team highs of 20 home runs and 73 RBI.
WHAT!? They had a slumping player up with the major league club but he was cold? Oh? AND you have a better option down in AAA? Uggh, this just shows the polar opposites of front offices in the major leagues and it saddens me.

It's been this way since this organization was sold ... and its not going to have a chance of changing until its sold again.

Oh...
That there isn't firm leadership in place, that there are conflicting mandates?
That these guys are behind the times in player evaluation?
That these guys want to hoard their prospects but never want to use them?
Gee. What makes you think that?

I was at Wrigley for the Cubs/M's series
Not to mention after EVERY pitch, Soriano in LF looks back and waves at fans, winks, smiles, and swats at butterflys (k, I made the butterfly part up..but who does all that shit!?)
I can say I hate that team, largely because of its fans

Uh huh
Also, Richie Weeks is not Raul IbaƱez. He's a young no-pop middle infielder, not exactly the same thing as a veteran LF coming off a career year. It's pretty easy for the Brewers to kick him to the curb.
The M's isn't brightly run, but let's not get into this habit of pointing out other org's good moves and only their good moves, and acting like the Mariners are the only team in MLB who make bad personnel decisions.

Nomar >> Ibanez as hitters
Ok I just looked at the numbers. Ibanez and Nomar's declines are pretty similar. Sexson's still looks like its all because of low BABIP which is a little different.

Jenkins is a platoon
Weeks is considered one of their best prospects, albeit very injury-prone. Since he's part of their long term positional plans along with Hardy, Hall, Fielder, Braun, I don't believe they're kicking him to the curb.

What Doug Melvin
he has 2 players left on the brewers since he took over 4 years ago being Ben Sheets and Geoff Jenkins. He knows how to retool and he isnt afraid to make moves to free space for talent. Trading Overbay gave way for Fielder and got him Dave Bush(who was alot better than i thought he could be last year even though he is struggling this year) and Gabe Gross who has proven to be a solid situational player. I love every move this guy makes, and I especially love how he stood up to Yost in bringing up Braun and letting Braun play even though he has made errors. Defense was the only reason he was in the Minors to start the year.
I love my Brewers but they will always be #2 in my heart behind my M's
