7/7: Open Game Thread

Hernandez (4-4, 4.11) Harden (1-1, 1.17)
Over his career, Rich Harden has allowed just 13 hits to current Mariners in 115 at bats. Richie Sexson's .692 OPS is the best of anyone with a decent sample size. This could easily turn out to be one of those games I'm glad to be missing.
LET'S GO MARINERS!!

Just think if he wasn't injured so much
I believe he is on a 70 pitch limit today. The M's should take that piece of knowledge and not hack away.
But this is the M's, so I expect Harden to throw 70 through 7.
9000 abouts...
It's early. Way, way, way too early.
I feel pretty good about this game
by the way,
if we lose like this, i may be forced to kill someone
I have a good feeling about this game
The Mariners needed last night's win like the stock market needs to not crash.
My favorite part of last night's game

Rich Harden at 70 pitches
And you saw how the game ran away from them as soon as they brought in the bullpen. Too many of their relievers are out of action to make that thing a strength.
I'm going to the game today!
today's celebrity lookalike
the actor's name is rick moser. Here is a picture of him (not from the movie where he looks like Ben, obviously).

so..
We may never now if Felix mixed his pitches today, hopefully Oakland has all that PFX for gameday.
I wonder how much of the game we'll be able to see
How much? Try none..

If that 70 pitch count
Annnnnd
Vidro is done
good job by Raul and Ichiro
Vidro is worthless
Just imagine
that could've been a huge inning
OH HELLS YEAH!!!
I'll take that first inning
YANKS-Angels
I don't want the Angels to win.
Wish the M's were on so I didn't have to have this stupid game on.

I thought Vidro was a professional hitter
Professional Defensive players adjusted to him

Hello Oakland,
Now cmon offense
OK what gamecast are you guys using?
by mark s @ Lookout Landing on Jul 7, 2007 1:24 PM PDT reply actions
first inning pitch analysis - (incomplete)
93 5" brk 9" pfx
94 5" 11"
88 7" 1"
95 6" 10"
82 10" 4"
Batter 2:
92 6" brk 10" pfx
Batter 3:
90 6" 11"
85 8" 9"
93 5" 12"
91 6" 10"
91 5" 13"
seems to me to be very different from his Bad Felix - 'throw a ton of fastballs' strategy.
thoughts?
Low 90s, I seem to think

Get Harden out of here in the 3rd.

Hooray taking pitches
WELCOME BACK BELTRE!
There's a reason you see
"Dan Haren is 0-2 with a 0.69 ERA"
or
"Joe Blanton is 35-7 in his career when he gets more than 1 run support"
A's can't hit for crap.
47 pitches through 2

Oh well
GAH
Grr.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but GO YANKEES!!!!
I <3 Felix's early batter breaking pitches.
I ♥ Beltre!!!!
Beltre OPS = .818
They were being pretty patient against Gaudin
They're really coming to form
by TheMarinator on Jul 7, 2007 1:35 PM PDT up reply actions
Vidro will only take 2-3 pitches
holy shit he went deep again?
beltre is awesome.
Is this game not televised?
Nope
I'm forced to watch old man Clemens try and beat the hated Angels.
Not a terrible game but I'd much rather see the Mariners.
by TheMarinator on Jul 7, 2007 1:36 PM PDT up reply actions
as long as he mixes the fastaball
idk
oh and fuck you vidro
Dont look now...ok, look now
God I hate the Angels
mabye putz will hit 106 on that gun
Felix mixing speeds and pitches

RAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUL!!!!!
fuck you rich harden you suck
productive out!
It's a shame we couldn't win
Not to look too far ahead, but it would have been awesome to go into tomorrow's game looking for a sweep.
Why is Sexson still batting before Beltre?
by TheMarinator on Jul 7, 2007 1:48 PM PDT reply actions
Perfect execution of the game plan
and with that...
That was FUN!
Not on the field
by TheMarinator on Jul 7, 2007 1:54 PM PDT up reply actions

ns
Yep sounds about right
That's the signature of the '07 Mariners!
by TheMarinator on Jul 7, 2007 2:06 PM PDT up reply actions
This game now has the feel
I sure hope we dont let DiNardo
and no K's through 4
by TheMarinator on Jul 7, 2007 2:10 PM PDT up reply actions
Slightly larger strike zone
Pitchers duel in New York
It would be so awesome to only be down 1.5 at the AS break.
