Well
We don't seem to have a problem playing defense deficient LF right now...

Just imagine Cabrera as DH.
My god would that improve our team.

Yeah
Miguel Cabrera ate LF.  And Joe Borchard.

Just say No to Dontrelle Willis.

He can play first.

The phrase
"four runs in 6 2/3 innings in his best start since the All-Star break" should be some sort of signal to said scouts.

Mariners scouts
Aren't the dumbasses.  Just the people they report to.

Yes.
But in this case, Frank.

No, not Frank Maddox.
He handles player development. Bob Fontaine is basically the commander of all the scouts.

Maddox handles the players in the
minor leagues and makes sure they're developing to their highest potential. Fontaine orders who and where the scouts should scout.

Not what I meant
I'm trying to figure out why you answered:

"Except Bob Fonatine."

To

"Mariners scouts aren't the dumbasses.  Just the people they report to."

Were you trying to say Fontaine isn't a dumbass or that Fontaine, as a scout (director), is a dumbass?

I was trying to say
that Fontaine isn't stupid.

'Cept for that dude
who thought Soriano was finished caused he couldn't get the ball above 87 while pitching with the flu.

How do we know
That wasn't just the FO's determination?  Or Hargrove's?

I seriously hope we don't
make a panic trade for him since, really, the only other pitcher we were scouting, Jose Contreras got bombed today.

OH god
who allowed four runs in 6 2/3 innings in his best start since the All-Star break.

Because we need more guys like that.

LOL
Bill Krueger would absolutely trade Adam Jones for Dontrelle Willis. KJR is AWESOME!

if they did it right i would not be all bad
Not that I'm advocating for this, but I think if the FO gave the Marlins, say Reed and Feierabend and they just rehabbed him for a year, I would not really be pissed at the front office.

Willis is not right
there are some real rumblings, rumors, whatever you want to call them that he is pitching through pain and might have something structurally wrong. That alone is worth turning and running. He's just not worth it.

As if
the steady decline in his performance didn't indicate enough problems.

by Gomez on Jul 26, 2007 10:31 AM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

I've never been a fan
so I'm trying my damndest to be nice. He might be effective if healthy. Trading your best prospect for him, no way in hell.
