BA Midseason prospect update
http://www.baseballamerica.com/online/prospects/features/264495.html
On the Midseason Top 25 Prospects list, Adam Jones comes in at #10, Jeff Clement at # 21, and Wladimir Balentein just missed the cut.
I knew Jones was going to be ranked high, but Jeff Clement at #21 was a surprise to me, considering the reports that his bat seems to be slow.
I thought it was pretty cool that 2 M's prospects are in the top 25, and 1 just barely outside that range.

Damn BA.
On second thought, forget the blackjack!
Somebody already did that

Hey, my office is on Aurora,
I've seen the merchandise, and it ain't pretty.
best reference ever
We carry a harpoon,
So we tell tall tales
And sing our whaling tune!
Nah, screw the whole damn thing.
We shouldn't call up Jones yet
Wladamir is far and above better than Clement
Whoever at baseball america doesn't know shit from a hole in the ground.

Give me a break about the slow bat.
No kidding.
Where is Greg Dobbs by the way?
That's good to hear.
He's crushing 85mph fastballs

I'd really prefer it if my guess is accurate.
I agree
Hopefully it's all a bunch of crap and Clement just needed adjustment time.

I haven't seen him play live, or
Then...
They've been doing it all year long though
If you go just by offensive numbers, I think he'd produce better than Jones and help the team moreso in that area.

So don't worry about the numbers.

Isn't BA much more "scouty"?
BA's idea of a numerical analysis
Which isn't to say they're not awesome at what they do, because they are. They just don't do numbers at all.

I just wanted to bring the overanalysing

Oh, please
There have been some pitchers moved up, but
1) it doesn't mean they were all the best arms, many of them just happened to be the pitchers that were pitching the best early in the season. There are certainly many pitchers that were left down that were as talented as some of the ones that got called up, but they just weren't going well to start out. And certainly, many of them have gotten it going now and are looking good.
2)Even if all the best pitchers have been called up, and only the best pitchers, the # of them isn't really all that great, and the difference between themselves and the ones they left behind isn't huge, and doesn't dillute the total pitching pool in the PCL by very much. It could not have amounted to anything but a small fraction of the increase in Clements production that it is getting credit for.
How come the whole PCL isn't going apeshit with the bat the last couple months?
