A's Unload Jason Kendall
Traded to the Cubs for Rob Bowen and a minor league pitcher. I wonder how much the A's are going to pay for the remainder of his salary?
Kurt Suzuki will now probably be the A's starting catcher. I know this isn't going to happen, but I would love it if Suzuki has "Kurt" written on the back of his jersey.

Unbelievable
Bowen isn't a major league catcher, but he's better than Kendall.
It doesn't even matter how much money changed hands, unless the Cubs got back a pot of gold and their own private leprechaun, they got hosed.

Well, Suzuki looks pretty good
As such, he's an immense improvement for the A's. I think they are too far back to get in the race, but they might play considerably better soon without Kendall being a black hole for their offense.
Meanwhile, OUR weak spots are still playing 1B and DH, or batting 3rd against lefties.

Why ESPN still sucks....
Meanwhile, Dave Neihaus did his best trying to figure out why anybody would trade for an aging catcher who can't throw anybody out and can't hit the ball out of the infield.
