Um
Isn't Beltre's -0.175 worse than Feierband's -.171?

I promise
there will eventually come a day where I don't make a mistake like this.

Beltre's
Two HR two double performance doesn't give him the WPA lead.  Fun stat though.

Vidro's Double
Yeah, it is because Vidro's Double had a much higher LI than any of Beltré's hits.

By the way, so far, those two have the lead on Suckfests, Vidro has 9 while Beltré has 7.

Where all that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.

Yeah!
Now you can tell everyone Beltre sucks on TWO websites!

Jeff
Would it be possible for you to post a list of the cumulative WPA for each player for the whole season so far, if it's not much trouble?  I know I can find it on Fangraphs but if I remember correctly, your method is slightly different.

I'll try to do that tonight.
I'll be at work then a friend's house for the ASG, though, so it'll be pretty late.

It might be interesting to look at
each players total "biggest goat" and "biggest hero" numbers.

For example, saying "Beltre sucks" because he has the second highest Goat Index doesn't necessarily follow, if he also has a high Hero Index.

Hey a new poll
And Weaver was finally starting to creep toward that elusive 50% approval rating (that Bush hasn't seen in years!  hehe.)

Interesting results in your poll too!  In my last mid-year review diary, when I posed the question of what would get the M's to the playoffs... NO ONE answered that it would be a hired gun pitcher.  I figured the LL community had looked at the stock of "expensive has-beens" and "no better than Batistas" and sighed a collective "meh".

And yet, well over 50% of people say they still want the M's to pursue a trade for a non-Buerhle pitcher.  Who, I wonder.  And at what price?

by johnbai on Jul 10, 2007 11:18 AM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Probably Jamie Moyer.
At least that's who Dave Cameron said he wanted.

No kidding...
I just want Griffey to hit 14 HRs between now & July 30th so Cincy will have no more excuse not to trade him to us at the deadline ;-)

I know, I know --ain't happ'nin' and it probably shouldn't.  Still, I want his lefty bat in the lineup.  If we can't get a frontline SP, then let's blast our offense even more and destroy everyone else's pitching...

Fry ME, Blow!!!

Yes please
But it does nip the whole Ibanez to DH thing in the bud.
