6/3: Open Game Thread

First Pitch: 1:05pm PDT

Kinsler 2B Ichiro CF Vazquez SS Lopez 2B Young DH Guillen RF Teixeira 1B Ibanez LF Diaz RF Sexson DH Byrd CF Broussard 1B Laird C Betancourt SS Cruz LF Ballgame 3B Kata 3B Burke C ---------- ----------

Tejeda (4-5, 5.75)          Feierabend (0-1, 5.40)

All you need to know and more:

"Tejeda has to be better than he was tonight and the last time, or pretty soon the scholarships will end," Washington said. "It's time to start growing up and throw the ball in the strike zone. He showed me no guts."

Despite his struggles, Tejeda's ERA is the lowest among Texas' five pitchers with at least eight starts.

The Rangers have the worst team FIP in baseball. You can wonder why they've started so poorly and ended up in last place, but you won't be wondering very long.

LET'S GO MARINERS!!

By the way
Tejeda has thrown 14.2 innings in his last four starts.

That's pathetic
Although Weaver's pitched less innings than our closer so I guess we can't say anything.

Wow.

I totally have to accept my brother's urgings to have a post-game beer at Feirabend after an M's game one of these days.

There are things I really hate about living in Oly at times.  I really want to spend more time in Seattle...

Alternatives
Given that Burke's in I wouldn't have minded seeing him in the #2 spot.

Presumably Vidro is just being rested?

by MarkE on Jun 3, 2007 12:35 PM PDT up reply actions   0 recs

Broussard at 1st
Sexson at DH.

Vidro must be the bench infielder since Beltre is hurt and Ballgame is, well, in the game.

What happens if, God forbid, Ballgame gets hurt
Do we see Vidro at second and Lopez at third? If it's Betancourt? Ballgame at short and Vidro at second?

So many intriguing, horrifying possibilities.

probably better than 2nd in this day and age

two DHs? With Sexson's defense, this might end up being addition by subtraction. Hargrove, you never cease to amaze us with your maverick lineup changes.

Okay, I think I figured out how to get free Mosaic
You know, the big feature they're touting for premium MLB.tv subscriptions? I have a basic subscription and I'm on a Mac. I chose the setting to launch the video in quicktime instead of playing in the browser window. All you have to do is just hit "watch" on as many games as you like, resize the windows to fit your screen and BAM! Free Mosaic.

Granted, the games go at about 6 frames per second and your computer moves like a slug, but hey! Mosaic! Yay?

Ethier
Pros: Consistently hits line drives from line to line with occasional power. Works hard and is a good situational hitter.

Flaws: He needs to unlock a little more power. His speed and defensive abilities are average at best.

Deanna's luck > Bretticus's luck
My personal Mariners game record this year is now 8-3 :)

I'm going tomorrow too, I just got my ticket for section 340 row 15, I hope everyone can join us there!

I saw Arthur Rhodes in the bullpen before the game.  And I got autographs from CJ Wilson and Akinori Otsuka, only I completely booched my Japanese roll trying to explain to him why I was wearing a Chunichi t-shirt.  Whee.

I really like Ryan Feierabend.  He rocks the high socks.

Today was REALLY sunny out though -- I only lasted an inning before moving back several rows to be in the shade, and I'm even sunburnt.  Yuck.

I too am very sunburnt.
And hey, I'm 4-7 now, so I'm getting closer to .500...and can you really count the 8-3 loss to the Royals as a loss?  I think that's more of a "Jeff Weaver".

I knew you'd say something about Feierabend's socks.

I saw Rhodes at the end of the game.  He's still in uniform and in the bullpen with everyone else.

Picked up my 340-15 ticket.  I totally think we've got to get Red up to 340 to watch along with us.  Especially since there's a good chance Beltre returns tomorrow!

Well you know
it was thanks to me being there that they won, you know. I think I'm like 6-2 or something.

You're coming to LL night tomorrow, right?
Even though we've all had differences with you at one point or another, especially me, I think we'd like to put a face to the name.  Even I still get annoyed by you a lot.

*Looks at date on next ticket*
DAMNIT!

JK Coach. Considering who I'm going with I doubt you could even phase me.

This is for Jeff to photoshop in WinExp someday.

I was just going through the 400 pictures I took today, saw this, and thought "My god, the LL folks would have a field day coming up with captions for this one."

(in case it isn't obvious, it's Ian Kinsler and Willie Bloomquist standing at second)
