Low Impact Rosterbation
Why isn't Carlos Silva coming up more in possible trade rumors. He started the year in the bullpen in Philadelphia and played the whole year in 2002, so I have to assume he's closing in on 6 years of major league service time. Hardball dollars does not have him with a contract beyond this year. His contract is moderate at 4.33 million. He' a solid pitcher but nothing eye-catching. He lives on one pitch and totally fits in to the organization's establish the fastball and pound the strikezone mantras. This is my official bring Silva to Seattle call. He's low-risk and shouldn't cost much in the way of prospects, and can be an adequate replacement for the middle of the rotation
