PrintEvery time I leave the country, the Mariners tank. My plane touched down in Europe on the morning of the 13th and the Mariners haven't won a game since. I knew this was going to happen, yet still I went. I offer my sincerest apologies, and hope Ichiro takes into consideration that I won't be leaving net year when he decides whether or not to resign.

I asked him whether he'd seen any signs that this five-game losing streak had been looming during what began as a 5-0 trip.
"Of course, but I'm not going to tell you (media) guys," Ichiro said.
And no, Ichiro said, he isn't talking about the team wearing down because of 46 games in 48 days.
"It's something totally different than that," he said.
