Around SBN: Nevin Shapiro Vows To Bring Down Miami

5/2: Open Game Thread

First Pitch: 12:35pm PDT

Erstad 1B Ichiro CF Iguchi 2B Beltre 3B Pierzynski C Vidro DH Konerko DH Ibanez LF Dye RF Sexson 1B Mackowiak LF Guillen RF Crede 3B Johjima C Sweeney CF Betancourt SS Uribe SS Lopez 2B ---------- ----------

Danks (0-3, 5.32)           Batista (2-2, 7.54)

I think it's funny that, as much as some people think Danks has disappointed so far, the guy Chicago traded for him has twice the ERA.

LET'S GO MARINERS!!

Maybe we can do this today:
  Bottom 4th: Milwaukee
  • J.J. Hardy singled to deep left
  • P. Fielder flied out to left center
  • B. Hall walked, J.J. Hardy to second
  • G. Jenkins popped out to third
  • C. Hart singled to shallow left, J.J. Hardy scored, B. Hall to third
  • B. Hall stole home, C. Hart stole second

Heh
Even the Mariners media can't hide the fact that Weaver sucks.  Regarding Weaver starting in New York he's "running out of time."

by ThundaPC on May 2, 2007 12:08 PM PDT reply actions

I don't like
that he'll have a chance to improve on his ERA. It's fun having him be the worst in franchise history. I don't want to lose that.

But it's against New York
They might be last, but they can still hit.

Yeah
I'd guess that the K rates drop and walks jump, but the balls in play runs are about right - LD rate being absurdly high is countering HR% being stupid low.

On March 28, 2007, Urbina was convicted of attempted murder.  Additional charges included illegal deprivation of liberty and violating a prohibition against taking justice into his own hands. He was sentenced to fourteen years in prison.

For all those not watching
Ibanez's double hit the bit of wall down the line that sticks out in foul ground, stopping it more or less dead, Mackowiak was waiting for the ball in the corner and so had to run in a long way to field it.
