Ichiro is that good in CF

Okay I knew Ichiro was a gold glove caliber outfielder.  And I understand that Safeco tends to inflate outfield statistics.  But this is just insane.  He's on a pace to set a record for putouts.  Not to mention that all the fielding stats are going crazy for him:

300 word Weird Fact:
Most polar bears are left-handed.  Sticking to the topic of handedness, only a tiny handful of marine gastropods ("snails") are left-handed, while a much larger percentage of landsnais (gastropods which live on the land rather than in the sea) are left handed.  Oddly enough, left-handed marine snails are much more common in the fossil record than at present.

since when do snails have hands?
If you look around the table and you can't tell who the sucker is, and then you see Bill Bavasi, it's him.

gastropod anatomy
I am a Geologest by education, and have even published. I work in an entirely different field now.

I'm Neil.

Though mainly working with trilobits. I have had to set through a few Paleontology class. Here is a good web page to familiarize with the anatomy of gastropoda

http://palaeo.gly.bris.ac.uk/Palaeofiles/Fossilgroups/gastropo/index_files/charact.html

Infact they can be "handed". Here is a simple run down on Cephalization

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cephalization.

Much like Ichiro who is right handed, he learned to bat left, becuase it suited his environment better. Gastropoda can change their handedness.
