I'm here in Hawaii, as some of you know. I get off work at 6pm Pacific time. My plan was to watch the archived feed of Felix/Daisuke after I got done listening live to Game 1 of Stars/Canucks. That game started a bit after 7p Pacific.

Now if the Canucks would have just held on to a two-goal lead in the third period like they should have, then it wouldn't have been too bad. Instead, they tried to sit on the lead, which they've been guilty of a few times this season.

Four overtimes later, Henrik Sedin finally scored just after 12:30a Pacific time, Thursday morning.

Another off-topic topic waiting to happen -- the game was through three overtimes and at midnight Pacific time, Versus cut away to the originally scheduled program, which of course was a paid program for the Supreme Pilates exercise apparatus. I was hearing the Versus studio crew talk about how much ice time the defensemen were racking up, Ken Hitchcock's huge noggin was on the screen talking about team defense, then all of a sudden, BAM! Supreme Pilates. The worst part? The game feed never came back.

Anyway, hooray to Felix in a game that I will totally see in its entirety in the very near future, hooray to the Canucks for winning the sixth-longest game in NHL history, and a big giant BOO to the NHL for teaming up with Versus because as much as I think ESPN takes things for granted sometimes, having an important game pre-empted by a paid program would never happen on ESPN.

Luckily I get CBC here.

Thus I was able to watch all 5.5 hours of the game. Blowing a 2-goal lead in the third is shitty though, but not a bad playoff debut for Luongo, with 60-some saves.

I'm told that my Versus feed disappearing might have been a regional thing, though I don't know for sure. It wouldn't surprise me if it was a national thing. I think the only sports television contract that's worse than the Pac-10's college basketball deal is the NHL's deal, and the Pac-10's deal is pretty crappy.

ah...

First off, national proof that I'm not full of crap about my hockey feed cutting away.

As for the pilates being supreme, I never quite thought of it that way...yt's all clear to me now. I would have been slightly less ticked off if the infomercial involved Billy Blanks or Tony Robbins. However, I think I flipped back to the channel way later in the program and Kenny Smith was using this Supreme Pilates apparatus.
