I've heard from two baseball people today that the Seattle Mariners already have, or are in the midst of extending manager Mike Hargrove's contract through the 2008 season.
Obviously nothing is confirmed and to be honest, I won't be able to confirm this with anyone who'll speak outside of anonymity, but there probably is something to this since the two sources that dropped me a line on it are reliable.
The word is, Grover didn't like the idea that his new bench coach, John McLaren, got a two-year deal and wanted the equivalent of...
Seems he may get it, if it hasn't happened already.
