Basically, ESPN is now tracking (and apparently making public) all sorts of new information, including data about pitch velocity, break, location and release point.

For the real diehards, there's a lot of new data mining possibilities. Hopefully they keep it up through the season, because it's the sort of thing that people much smarter than me can make into something really interesting.

Yeah

The pitch spotting was worse Niehaus'. Pretty crappy bit of software that was, but hopefully whatever they roll out this year will be better.

Wawaweewawa

I just checked out the new gameday ofor the Nats game. Its pretty clunky, and runs slow on my gay little mac, but otherwise seems to combine the best of gameday original and enhanced from last year. As someone who's out of market and doesn't watch/own a TV, this makes me a happy monkey.
