"Bloomquist seeks full-time position with Mariners"
If his new swing carries over into the regular season, the South Kitsap High School product could move closer to realizing his ultimate goal -- being an everyday player.
Please, Jesus, no. When will the local press's love affair with Willie end??
Bloomquist does not have a true position and has played at least seven with the Mariners, but his versatility is what made him so valuable even though he was an average hitter.
"Average hitter", my ass.

Also...
It would be like watching the Academy Awards and seeing Jessica Simpson getting an Oscar. Everyone else must have died and she was the default choice.

Don't we get this story every year?
Chill everyone, monsieur faible shall get the 250 wasted at-bats he always gets.

Who will he replace? Easy: anybody!
Betancourt: Why don't we just put OJ Simpson out there with all the legal trouble's this kids's got! The only crime Willie ever commited was being too sexy for his shirt.
Lopez: fat!
Richie: The cost of having a first baseman 10 inches shorter would save us millions alone on uni costs over the course of a full season.
Ichiro: Gone at the end of the year - why delay the inevitable! Bench him to send a message!
Raul: Fluke year! Why not end on a high note?
Jose Guillen: He may want to kill Mike Scioscia, but last time I checked murder was illegal. Stolen bases aren't!
Kenji: that language barrier is killing our pitchers - just look at Felix! Willie, on the other hand, speaks English, Spanish and seven dialects of Kurdish.

Beltre
Okay, he does at times, but Willie has him beat in that category, too. Of course, he was only smiling toward the Willie Fan Club.

Beltre
ie. He was picking up the minor leaguers for pratice in ST, at the hotel I was staying at. Beltre was smiling a lot. Maybe he only smiles in ST?

"...his ultimate goal -- being an everyday player (on the Angels as a CF)."
I'm totally cool with that.

If Willie is so damn good
Why doesn't another team pick him up? There are 29 other teams out there who can see his greatness. WFB doesn't have a huge contract so it would be easy for another team to pick him up. Every single team knows the M's were hurting for pitching this off season. If someone wanted Boom-Boom all they had to do was trade a number 5 guy to the M's.
In other words, if you take your girl to a party and not any of the other 29 guys makes a comment to you or a pass at her. She just isn't all that hot.
