Inge

What do you guys think about getting him to play second and hit 8th? Last year was horrendous but he should be better than Lopez offensively and probably defensively as well and not cost an arm/leg since the Tigers seem to not value his defense. Plus, we would no longer have to see him robbing M's of line drives down the 3B line.

He doesn't have the range to play 2B
and his bat would not justify him playing out of position.

How 'bout Inge in center
would that work?

Only if he could pitch
And maybe send mental signals.

Not for us
just in general. I've heard he's a good outfielder.

Getting a second baseman
Is not exactly top priority for this club right now... Lopez needs one more year before we can say quit on him.

Which would you rather have?
Inge at 1st or Sexson at 1b?

Inge at 6.5 mil for 3 I guess
didn't realize his contract extension was signed last just last year.

Thats what i'm saying
Inge is a shitty hitter.  Sexson > Broussard > Inge

by Edgar for Pres on Dec 9, 2007 9:58 PM PST up reply actions   0 recs

Sexson is just as shitty if not shittier
at least Inge gives you defense.

Inge is best cast as a super utility guy if he's not playing 3rd and/or hitting.

not that it's worth much, but
2007 PrOPS:
Inge: .746
Sexson: .820

Not sure how good a defender at 1B Inge would be though.

As long as he can handle a throw in the dirt...
I agree it would be dumb to sign him to play first, but I'm just taking the opportunity to soak in just how worthless Sexson is.

Agreed.
I think Jeff said it in sometime in september: He may bounce back, but his time with the mariners is over.

I dunno, just threw it out there
since people were saying 2b.  Is it weird that so many people replying to my comment makes me happy?

Mench was DFA'd today
he's the bizarro-Ibanez.  Murders lefties.  Combine the two and you'd have a pretty impressive DH platoon.  Of course, I'm not sure we need another lead footed-no-defense guy.

Comerica park
I was wondering, how did Tigers stadium become a hitters park (assuming it is from the season Guillen and Magglio have).  I remember before Juan Gone complaining non-stop about how hard it was to hit there, and how if he was at Texas his HRs would double.
Also, to answer the question why would you want Inge at 1b, my response is, why would you want Sean Casey at 1b?
