Good News?
Hello.
According to an article by mlb.com's Joe Frissaro, Dontrelle Willis might not be available until July.
On the eve of the Winter Meetings beginning in Nashville, multiple sources said the Marlins are leaning towards retaining the D-Train, at least until the July 31, 2008 trade deadline. He goes on to add:
While Willis is likely to return, the Marlins still are expected to entertain feeler offers for teams interested in the left-hander.I really hope the first part holds true. Anything that helps us avoid the nightmare scenario of Clement + Sherrill for D-Train would be welcome news.

Shockingly, perhaps...
So, yeah, in the right scenario, I'm fine with trading him, too. But I fully expect this year's Soriano/Ho deal to backfire yet again, only this time with GS52...

Reports, probably false
Raul Ibanez "is high on the Cubs' list" of trade targets, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
The newspaper cites Ibanez's reasonable contract and previous time playing under manager Lou Piniella as reasons why the Cubs might pursue him, but it's unclear whether Seattle would consider dealing the longtime Mariner.

as long as there's no Marmite on it
I was stunned - at our housewarming party this weekend, I met an Englishman who has never liked Marmite. I couldn't believe it - I thought it was a requirement that if you were English, you ate Marmite and loved it.

Yup
Marmite is fucking vile. The name is entering common parlance to represent something that's either loved or hated and their TV adverts even play on this theme. They went through a spell a few years ago of printing "I HATE Marmite" on the front of their jars.
It's grim. Properly grim.

If Ibanez goes
Jenkins would be nice, but hey there's always Reed. He can be our 'power' lefty.
