Bedard a Met?

...?

Via Rotoworld: http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=MLB&hl=226988&id=3449
_____________

WFAN radio in New York reports that "there's news floating around that the Mets are close on Erik Bedard." The Bedard rumors have picked up steam since he reportedly told the Orioles that he's not interested in working out a long-term contract extension. There's some speculation that the Orioles could ask the Mets to take Miguel Tejada and his contract back in a Bedard trade, but it's unclear where Tejada would play in New York. It remains to be seen if the Mets have the pieces to pull off a trade for Bedard even after dealing Lastings Milledge."

Welp, so much for that pipedream.

That doesnt seem like
it is imminent..  So some people say that a deal is close but there are also a lot of 'could' 'maybe' 'possibly' type phrases in there.

There was news floating around
That Ibanez was close to a deal with Chicago
That Sexson may be dealt to the Giants
That Iran was working on nuclear weapons
That Adam Jones would be traded for Matt Garza.

News tends to be wrong a lot. Now, to say Bedard may go to the Mets may not be false, but "close?" It is too early for the Orioles to have sold him already. They have all week.

Sources say that deal is close.
Also close to confirmed, Jeff is getting traded to a local High School for unknown prospect Will Thompson + Cash.

No way...
that trade gets league approval, it is too one-sided.

According to that Toronto article
the Jays think taking Tejada as part of the deal is some sort of concession.  There's no chance the Orioles accept that argument.
