When Shameless Plugs Attack

A little while back Aaron Shinsano, one of the authors of East Windup Chronicle (a blog that does a solid job of covering baseball in Asia), asked me if I wanted to e-pen a review piece of Ichiro's season. I did, on account of Ichiro totally rocks, and it just went up today. So check that out if you want to distract yourself from thinking about why we don't like the Mariners by reading why we do.

Good piece
One question:

"[Jeff] also recently won an award for the “Blog Most Likely to Attract Beautiful Women” at the inaugural Bloggers…Choosing the Choice Cuts Awards."

Have you been telling everyone that I hang out here or something?

You're just angry
That I could kick your ass at MarioKart

How are you still alive?
I've seen that game ruin lives.
Hard work never killed nobody, but I won't take my chances.

The addiction comes and goes
But god, I can spent hours on a single course time trialing and not notice the day's suddenly vanished.

If that was true
Then there would be few people in this world that didn't make me angry.

Wait a minute
Is that "blog most likely" or "blogger most likely"?  :)

The actual question is
did I follow the link to the post?  :)

If it's "blogger"
then something's not working. :|

Ah, yeah, those guys.
They asked me to write an article for them a while back after I'd done a statistical breakdown of this year's Sawamura Award contenders, but then I visited their site and right on the front page was a photo stolen from me, so I got sort of annoyed about that, and they've hated me ever since.

They also don't really cover anything of Japanese baseball if it's not related to the MLB, so it's not all that interesting to me.

Uh oh
I steal photos all the time to paste into the WE charts. I hope I'm not accumulating a swath of enemies.

I'm sure you've made enough here.
>:-(!!!!

Uh
My name is Inigo Montoya, you stole my photos, prepare to die?

Deanna
Actually, Deanna, I sent you a very nice email in response to your complaint about the photo. And I swapped it out. Nothing hateful in the slightest.

It's funny, because I thought you hated us after you visited our site the second time...when we handed you your lunch in the comments section of our (non-MLB related) idea for a pan-Pacific baseball league.

I concur...
With the internals of that article. A Pan-Asian League would be awesome and a great way to enliven baseball in the region.

Seriously, KBO and CPBL need to be propped up by the nearest MLB-like entity, the NPB. Unfortunately, the Japanese are too nearsighted and racist for it to happen. The potential money in it would be insane.

But the Japanese have never been about profit, so the NPB will toil in low-profit margins and weak teams as the MLB sucks away the talent.

Check again.
It's still there.  It's not even a good picture, but that isn't the point.

I think it's kind of hard to hand someone their lunch when you don't actually have any clue what they're eating for lunch, though.

Either way, this isn't the time or place for it.  I'll email you sometime if you want to settle this love-hate-whatever thing.
