We know that people ask the stupidest questions in the mailbag and for some reason we still don't understand, Street answers them. You know he must be getting better questions, but he feels the need to answer questions about whether we can trade Ho Ram and Weaver for Santana (or whatever that was) or whether David Eckstein is "Scrappy" enough to replace Betancourt.
So Gomez sent in the following question:
Steven G in Seattle, WA writes
Would the Mariners be interested in making a deal with the Yankees for Chien-Ming Wang? The Yankees have been riding Wang the last couple of years and now that the Mariners appear done with Ho Ramirez, perhaps they're ready to dump Ho and trade for Wang. Wang would be much stronger and more durable, plus he would give opposing batters a hard time and make them hit their balls on the ground. What do you think?
and I just sent in these two:
Will T. in Landings, ID writes:
It seems that the twins are interested in moving Nick Punto. He has shown he can pick up the defense, which was not that good last year for the Mariners. Could a package deal of Wlad Balentien, Jeff Clement, and cash bring him to Seattle for cheap?
Will T. in Landings, ID writes:
It looks like the Mariners may be looking for a backup 1st baseman to replace Sexson. Is there any chance of bringing John Olerud back? He is only 38 and had a great career batting average.
If any of those are answered, I think we should start sending in questions regularly and competing to see whose can be taken seriously and responded to, with bonus points for sexual innuendo or overall stupidity.
Anyone have any ideas what questions to ask? Anyone game?
